There have been 221 cases of chickenpox in Giao Long Industrial Park.

In just 4 days, the number of chickenpox cases in Giao Long Industrial Park (Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre ) increased from 83 to 221 cases.

Mr. Nguyen Van Oanh, Director of Ben Tre Department of Health, said that as of December 30, the chickenpox outbreak at AO Garment Company in Giao Long Industrial Park (Chau Thanh District, Ben Tre) had recorded 221 cases. Thus, in just 4 days, the number of chickenpox cases from this outbreak increased from 83 to 221 cases.

All cases have been instructed by the health sector to self-isolate and receive treatment at home to avoid infecting their families and the community. There have been no serious cases recorded.

AO Garment Company in Giao Long Industrial Park is where the chickenpox outbreak was discovered.

The Ben Tre Department of Health stated that although the number of cases continued to increase over the past week, the chickenpox epidemic is under control. However, due to the complex nature of the industrial park with a large number of workers residing in many places, the number of cases is likely to increase in the coming time.

As Thanh Nien reported, the chickenpox outbreak broke out at the AO Garment Company in Giao Long Industrial Park, where more than 30,000 workers regularly work.

On December 26, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province issued an official dispatch directing the Industrial Park Management Board, the Department of Health, and the Department of Education and Training to strengthen epidemic prevention and control measures; in which special attention should be paid to preventing the disease from spreading to school areas.
