According to VTC News, Mr. To Quoc Khanh - in charge of the chess department of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training is being detained. The police have come to work with the General Department of Sports and Physical Training to confirm Mr. To Quoc Khanh's personal information to serve the investigation.

Mr. To Quoc Khanh is in charge of the chess department of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training. He was assigned to lead the Vietnamese chess team for the 32nd SEA Games. However, before the congress, Mr. Khanh was dismissed due to the controversy related to the unusual list of the chess team for the 32nd SEA Games.

Specifically, many famous and well-performing players were removed from the list. In addition, the coaching staff of the Vietnamese team, which was not recommended by the Vietnam Chess Federation, was still approved. At that time, the General Director of the General Department of Sports and Physical Training Dang Ha Viet said that Mr. Khanh had not consulted or reported, leading to the incidents that caused outrage.

Mr. To Quoc Khanh is 50 years old this year. He was the national chess champion in 1994, with a high Elo rating of 2,318.
