Previously, the Vietnam Association for Conservation of Nature and Environment received a dossier from Tam Ky City requesting recognition of 12 Dalbergia tonkinensis trees in Huong Tra eco-village as Vietnam Heritage Trees.

On February 28, 2024, the Vietnam Heritage Tree Council met, reviewed the documents and concluded that 9 Dalbergia tonkinensis trees met all the criteria for Vietnam Heritage Trees; the remaining 3 trees did not meet the criteria for size.

It is known that the 12 Dalbergia tonkinensis trees selected by Tam Ky City to register as Vietnam Heritage Trees are over 100 years old, the oldest tree is over 150 years old.

The ceremony to announce the decision and receive the Certificate of Recognition of Vietnam Heritage Trees for the population of 9 sưa trees will be held on the morning of April 5 in the festival program "Tam Ky - Sưa Flower Season".
