Ms. Hong said that the Vietnamese Embassy, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese and the Executive Committee of the Overseas Vietnamese Association regularly keep in touch to understand the situation of the community, ask about and encourage the spirit of the people to overcome the current period. Up to now, there have been no plans to evacuate the people from Israel. Israeli airspace is completely closed and the local authorities also recommend against traveling by road through Jordan and Egypt because it is not safe.
Living in Netanya, 15km from Tel Aviv, Ms. Hong said that her family's daily life has been disrupted by Iran's missile attacks on Israeli territory. To ensure safety and comply with the government's security recommendations, her husband has been working from home for the past two days. Her second son has been studying online via Zoom because schools are closed. Her plans to work abroad have also been forced to cancel.

In Israel, except in cases of emergency, people are allowed to take time off or work from home. Schools are also temporarily closed until further notice. However, supermarkets are still open with full stock of goods and food. People can still go out to buy food when it is safe to do so again.
Currently, to ensure safety, all four members of Ms. Hong's family are staying in a bomb shelter built solidly with iron in the house. The room has internet and is fully stocked with food and essential supplies. Ms. Hong said that in Israel, most newly built houses have such bomb shelters. As for houses built over 30 years ago that do not have their own bomb shelters, people will go to community safety rooms, community shelters, public shelters, educational facilities or community shelters to take shelter after receiving notice from the Home Front Command.
When a warning is issued, people must quickly find the nearest safe shelter, reach the shelter within 18 minutes at most, and must not leave until receiving official instructions from the Home Front Command. All Israelis install a security alert app on their phones or receive notifications on TV. Security alerts are usually sent via the app about 10 minutes before a possible attack. Depending on the area, the app will broadcast notifications more or less frequently.
According to Ms. Hong, on the night of June 15 and early morning of June 16, when Iran launched three missile attacks on Israeli territory, her whole family hardly slept all night, only falling asleep at 6 a.m. From her house, they could hear explosions from the city of Petah Tikva, about 20km from Netanya.
Ms. Hong added that there is no safe place in Israel today. Although many areas are equipped with the Iron Dome air defense system, it is not completely safe because there are still Iranian missiles that have escaped the air defense and hit targets in Israel, threatening the safety of the people.
According to the Chairman of the Vietnamese Association in Israel, there are currently about 700 Vietnamese people living, studying and working in many different cities in this country, the largest of which is in the city of Bat Yam, more than 7km south of Tel Aviv. Currently, the Vietnamese community is advised to stay calm, follow the instructions of local authorities, and limit travel to dangerous areas. The Vietnamese Embassy has activated an emergency communication channel with the Vietnamese community, and coordinated with associations and groups to grasp the situation and provide timely support if necessary.
Israelis are urged to be aware of their safety, especially by strictly following the instructions on what to do from the Home Front Command. The instructions note: “Correctly following these steps can save your life and the lives of your loved ones in emergency situations such as missile attacks, UAV attacks or other security incidents.”
