Announcing the leaders and key personnel of the new Gia Lai province

On the morning of June 30, the new Gia Lai province (merged from Binh Dinh and Gia Lai) held a ceremony to announce and hand over Resolutions and Decisions of the Central and local governments on merging provincial and commune-level administrative units, ending the operation of district-level administrative units, establishing Party organizations, and appointing new Party committees and personnel.

The ceremony was attended by comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Politburo member, Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, and other leaders of the Central Government and the new Gia Lai province.

At the ceremony, comrade Ngo Dong Hai, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Commission, Head of the Working Group assisting in the implementation of Decision No. 284 of the Politburo , directed and announced the Central resolutions and decisions in the new Gia Lai province.

Accordingly, after the merger, Binh Dinh and Gia Lai provinces will form the new Gia Lai province, with an area of ​​21,576.53 km² and a population of 3,583,693 people. The province has 135 commune-level administrative units, including 110 communes and 25 wards; of which, 9 communes will not be reorganized.

Comrade Ho Quoc Dung was appointed by the Politburo as the new Secretary of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee.

The Politburo appointed a new Gia Lai Provincial Party Executive Committee for the 2020-2025 term, consisting of 61 comrades; the new Gia Lai Provincial Party Standing Committee consists of 18 comrades.

Mr. Ho Quoc Dung, member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Binh Dinh province, was appointed to hold the position of Secretary of the new Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee for the 2020-2025 term.

Mr. Rah Lan Chung, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of the old Gia Lai province, holds the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of the new Gia Lai province, term 2021-2026.

Mr. Pham Anh Tuan, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Binh Dinh province, holds the position of Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the new Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, term 2021-2026.

The Central Committee mobilized two comrades: Nguyen The Vinh, Commander of the former Kon Tum Provincial Military Command, was appointed to the position of Commander of the Provincial Military Command; comrade Le Quang Nhan, Director of the former Binh Thuan Provincial Police, was appointed to the position of Director of the new Gia Lai Provincial Police.

The Prime Minister also decided to appoint 7 comrades to hold the position of new Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial People's Committee, of which comrade Nguyen Tuan Thanh holds the position of Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, term 2021-2026.
