Viettel 's largest Research & Development Center officially broke ground at Hoa Lac High-Tech Park (Hanoi) on the morning of August 19.
This activity is part of the event of simultaneously starting and inaugurating 250 projects in 34 provinces/cities across the country with a total investment of 1.28 quadrillion VND on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
Viettel Research & Development Center project is invested 10,000 billion VND on an area of 13 hectares. The project consists of 6 smart buildings, expected to be completed in 2030. This will be a key R&D center, closing the entire process of research - design - testing - production of high-tech products Made in Vietnam.
From mastering the technologies of manufacturing missiles, cruise engines, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), remote sensing satellites, radars, etc. to create military equipment products suitable for the requirements of protecting the Fatherland to researching and applying technologies of big data, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, etc. to develop equipment, software, solutions, platforms, and services that meet the actual needs of the market and are in line with world technology trends.
The project applies international standards in design and operation, integrating smart, green, and sustainable elements to both meet high professional requirements and be environmentally friendly.
This is also a project built with a system that ensures absolute safety and security, uses the most modern technology and is protected through many layers.
Major General Tao Duc Thang - Chairman and General Director of Viettel Group said that the groundbreaking ceremony of Viettel Research and Development Center today is the content that Viettel is implementing vigorously under the direction of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on March 15, when the Prime Minister visited and worked with Viettel on research programs and production of high-tech defense industry.
According to Major General Tao Duc Thang, Viettel not only invests in infrastructure but also builds a complete R&D ecosystem: Attracting and employing talents, cooperating with technology corporations, research institutes, and universities at home and abroad, while creating an environment that encourages innovation.
"This will be the 'second home' of 2,500 high-quality technology personnel of Viettel," he said.

According to Major General Tao Duc Thang, Viettel has identified mastering 9/11 national strategic technologies: AI, semiconductors, Cloud, cyber security, 5G/6G, humanoid robots, aerospace, blockchain, new materials. With such a huge workload, the Group has been mobilizing all resources, urgently building many projects across the country.
"In Viettel's journey to master core technology, there is no room for hesitation or compromise. Viettel has only one path: Reaching the destination with the fastest speed, best quality and highest sense of responsibility," Major General Tao Duc Thang emphasized./.
