Recently, social networks in China were abuzz with the story of a woman who missed her father's first death anniversary because she couldn't get on a plane.

Accordingly, the woman in the incident, Han (49 years old, Chinese nationality), booked a flight from Changi Airport (Singapore) to Haikou, China on the morning of August 28.

On the day of departure, she arrived at the airport at 6am and waited in line for a long time at the check-in counter to receive her ticket. However, when it was her turn to check in, the airline staff informed her that the plane was full and she could not board.

The staff offered to help Han arrange to go to Haikou on August 30. This made Han unable to accept and burst into tears because August 29 was the first anniversary of her father's death.

"Before, my father was sick but I couldn't go back to take care of him properly because I was busy making a living in Singapore. Now that he has passed away, I feel very guilty and always wanted to be present on the first anniversary of my father's death. Even though I cried and begged, the staff still insisted that there were no more seats on the plane," Han said.

She stayed at the airport until the flight she bought a ticket for had departed before returning home.

The airline representative said that they sincerely apologized to Han for the inconvenience and pain she had to go through. The airline is still investigating the matter and has arranged for her to board the plane on August 30, and sent a $150 voucher as a thank you.
