For the "3600 Environment" Club of the National Economics University (Hanoi), that journey is a series of tireless efforts to spread the spirit of green living, responsible learning and practical action.
More than just action
According to Vu Dang Khoa, Chairman of the "3600 Environment" Club, the club was founded in 2007 with the long-term goal of building a community of students who are aware of and take action to protect the environment. "From the beginning, the group determined the direction of both volunteering and academics. One side is specific actions such as propaganda and environmental sanitation; the other side is knowledge so that understanding can lead to action," Dang Khoa shared.
Not only stopping at theory, the Club has had many outstanding activities in the past year. One of the notable ones is the "Nurturing Green Seeds" campaign held at Vinh Hung Primary School (Hanoi) last May. Here, 100 volunteers of the Club organizededucational activities on waste classification, the impact of waste on the environment, combined with interactive games for more than 500 5th graders. "We believe that if we sow green seeds from childhood, the next generation will grow up with a high awareness of protecting this planet," Khoa said.
The "3600 Environment" Club does not simply organize short-term campaigns, but also pursues a multi-dimensional approach with sustainable goals. One of the special features is the combination of practical actions and awareness raising - 2 factors considered as 2 pillars that create the spreading power of environmental movements.
According to Vu Dang Khoa, campaigns like "Nurturing Green Seeds" are not only propaganda in nature but also an opportunity for the Club to practice organizational skills, create communication content and connect with the community. In the recent campaign at Vinh Hung Primary School ( Hanoi ), Club members proactively developed lesson plans and interactive games to convey messages in a familiar and memorable way for primary school students. The result was not only the number of more than 500 students reached but also the joy and excitement evident on each of their faces, which is a signal that environmental protection awareness is being "sown" properly.

For a green community
The club president said that many members after participating in the event returned to the club with the desire to accompany them for a long time and continue to contribute to larger programs. It is the connection between knowledge and action that has helped the club develop sustainably over the past 19 years.
At the Earth Hour 2025 event series, students collected waste paper during the exam season, a small but practical and effective form. The event attracted more than 700 students from the National Economics University, collecting 3 tons of recyclable waste. In addition, the club also organized a workshop on making recycled items from scraps of fabric, where students were instructed to make hair ties, bags... from old clothes. "We want students to understand that protecting the environment is not something too far away. It can start with small things, like sorting trash or recycling old clothes," said Bach Thu Hau, Vice President of the Club.
The biggest difficulty for the club at present is human resources. Despite its long history, the club currently has about 40 members. "Although the number is small, we try to maintain quality, cohesion and a spirit of sharing within the club," Thu Hau said. Thanks to the spirit of solidarity, many of the club's activities are still successfully organized, leaving an impression on the student community and the people. From propaganda, cleaning up trash, instructing primary school students to classify trash to recycling and sharing love with children in the highlands, all revolve around one value axis: living green for the community. "The core value of the 3600 Environment Club is to put the interests of the community first. Every activity, whether academic or volunteer, aims at the common goal of connecting, spreading and creating real value," Bach Thu Hau shared.
For nearly 20 years, the "3600 Environment" Club has quietly sown green seeds from action and knowledge. They hope that each generation of students can live more responsibly towards the environment, starting from the smallest things.
