Medio Club - where young people protect the environment and spread green living awareness

Báo Phụ nữ Việt NamBáo Phụ nữ Việt Nam08/02/2025

In early 2025, members of the Medio Club of Bui Thi Xuan High School (District 1, Ho Chi Minh City) were present at the railway tracks in Binh Thanh area to clean up the environment.

In addition to cleaning up trash, the club also organizes propaganda activities to raise public awareness of environmental protection; at the same time, it calls on people around the railway area to participate in practical actions such as cleaning up trash and reminding people to throw trash in the right place.

The Medio Club of Bui Thi Xuan High School was established and has been operating for 5 years now. Although they are all still in school, the club members have arranged their time to successfully organize many environmental protection programs.

Tang Ngoc Thanh Tu, Head of the Medio Club Event Organizing Committee, said that the club operates mainly in the Ho Chi Minh City area. Although there are many directions of operation, the main goal of the club is to turn Medio into a "second home", where members share the desire to protect the environment and spread green living awareness.

"We have had a number of effective campaigns after 5 years of operation. In 2024, the club collaborated with "Sai Gon Xanh" to carry out the "Spring - Ers go Greener" campaign. Also in this year, Medio organized the sale of items and used 100% of the capital and interest contributed through the Vietnam Fatherland Front to support compatriots affected by storm No. 3.

Not stopping there, we believe that Medio will have many more meaningful and influential activities," Thanh Tu shared.

Environmental protection activities of Medio Club

In the process of implementing activities, the biggest difficulty of the Club is not being able to exploit 100% of its members.

Besides, because the club members are all students and have a lot of school schedules, managing time and balancing between studying and community activities is a challenge. In terms of community, because Medio is a club within the scope of a school, what the group does is not widespread enough.

Thanh Tu added that in the coming time, the Club will promote recycling activities and sustainable products, recycling products that are friendly to the environment and users. "We believe that small habits will make a big difference.

If humans destroy the environment through harmful habits, we can also restore and green the Earth. In the upcoming activities, we will try to learn from previous experiences so that the Club can operate more effectively.

Through these activities, the Club hopes to spread the spirit of environmental protection, encourage people to throw garbage in the right place, especially in public places, ensure the quality of construction, participate in building an increasingly green, clean, beautiful city, and sustainable development.
