Stories about people who keep the "information veins" at the district level

The press is constantly developing and innovating every day with the excitement of the flow of information, there are still people who silently maintain the "bloodline" of information in districts, towns, cities (generally called district level) and the grassroots. Reporters at the Centers of Culture - Sports and Broadcasting (VH-TT&TT) carry within them a great love for journalism, with the mission of bringing information to every corner of people's lives.

Not flashy, but district radio reporters are the most authentic and emotional storytellers about the land they live, are attached to and contribute to.

COME TO THE PROFESSION WITHOUT CALCULATION

The stories of the reporters at the district Culture, Information and Communication Centers are all different. Some people come to the profession by chance, like Ms. Duong Ngoc Duyen, Deputy Director of the Culture, Information and Communication Center of Cho Gao District, who just happened to glance at the recruitment information of the Ho Chi Minh City Radio and Television High School II and chose the journalism and editing major. And then she was accepted, she stuck with the writing career from the first days of her internship at the district station until she officially became a staff member.

Ms. Duong Ngoc Duyen shared that being a female reporter sometimes has difficulties, but her love for the job helps her overcome everything.

As for Mr. Bui Thanh Luong, Deputy Director of the Culture, Information and Communication Center of Tan Phuoc district, his love for journalism began with his hobby of taking photos and filming to record the beauty of everyday life. Mr. Luong shared: “Not by chance, nor by calculation, I came to this profession because I like to travel, to meet, to tell about the beautiful things I see in life.”

As for reporter Bui Thien Duyen Tam (Center for Culture, Information and Communications of Go Cong City), since she was a student of Journalism, Tam has cherished the dream of becoming a person who conveys transparent, honest, and human information - exactly the spirit that journalism needs to have.

3 reporters - 3 different opportunities to start journalism, but they have something in common: A deep love for the profession, choosing to work in information at the district level, close to the daily life of the people. At the district level, journalism does not have clear boundaries between roles: Gathering information, writing scripts, filming, editing, even being a radio announcer, as reporter Duyen Tam shared: "Being a district journalist means having to be multi-talented". That is why every working day is a day of learning, rubbing shoulders with reality, improving skills - which makes the job always new, never boring.

However, behind the "brilliance" of the news broadcast on the air or the colorful television footage, closely linked to the breath of people's lives, journalists at the Cultural, Information and Communication Centers also have many silent sacrifices for the journalism career.

Ms. Duong Ngoc Duyen shared that women journalists sometimes suffer many disadvantages. When she was single, she could rush into work, going to the base regardless of the time. But when she became a mother and a wife, the "balancing" problem became even more challenging. "To fulfill the responsibilities of both sides, I have to take advantage of every minute, every hour. Many times when I went to the base to film news, I was worried about my sick child at home... But then thinking about my passion, about the news and articles I was about to tell the public, I had more motivation" - Ms. Duyen shared.

There are many journalists who, although their work location is not their hometown, have a close bond for many years despite the long distance. Mr. Bui Thanh Luong is an example. For the past several decades, he has been regularly traveling from his home in Tan Huong commune, Chau Thanh district to his office in My Phuoc town, Tan Phuoc district, more than 25 km every day. Sometimes he is tired, sometimes he "feels bored", but every time his article is approved for broadcast, Mr. Luong feels like he is fueled, motivated and feels that his work is effective.

MANY UNFORGETTABLE MEMORIES

Journalism brings many experiences and memories to journalists at the Cultural, Information and Communication Centers. Memories of the profession, of journalists, do not lie in awards, but in stories and experiences during the work process. I remember the first day of work, Mr. Bui Thanh Luong - a technician - was assigned to film a district-level conference, so he was nervous. He sent the news to the provincial station with an apology note: "Today, my filming was not good enough". Yet the news was still broadcast during prime time, from then on he officially entered the role of a reporter.

Mr. Bui Thanh Luong believes that positive feedback from the people is the greatest reward for journalists.

Or as Ms. Bui Thien Duyen Tam shared, until now she is still tormented by the time she interviewed a poor old woman raising a young child in a dilapidated house. “The child should have been able to go to school, but instead stayed home to cut grass and raise goats with her grandmother. Seeing that scene, I could not hold back my tears. The story made me ponder for a long time and urged me to do decent journalism, for people, and to stick close to life” - Ms. Duyen Tam shared.

Journalism at the district level is also a journey of tireless dedication of journalists to promptly and continuously inform the people about the Party and State's guidelines and policies, contributing to the construction of an increasingly innovative homeland. Since the movement to build new rural areas (NTM) was launched, the district Cultural, Information and Communication Centers have become a bridge to propagate policies, spread good models, and encourage people to participate in building a new life.

Ms. Duong Ngoc Duyen shared: “Each article about good people, good deeds, each topic about achievements of the new rural commune is a time when I feel my job is truly useful. Every time I attend and report on the launch of the new rural commune, advanced new rural commune, model new rural commune, I am very moved because I think that through my information and propaganda, I have contributed to encouraging and motivating people to actively participate in building an increasingly prosperous homeland.”

For Mr. Bui Thanh Luong, each time he successfully collaborates with the provincial radio station, the biggest reward is not the royalties, but receiving positive feedback from the people as a valuable reward of the profession. "Working as a journalist at the district level is not glamorous, it is where I truly live my profession" - Mr. Luong shared.

Nowadays, when the press enters the digital transformation period, as well as the 2-level government model is about to come into operation, it brings journalists at the Culture, Information and Communication Centers to a new turning point as shared by Ms. Bui Thien Duyen Tam: "The journalism profession is changing every day, professionals must constantly update and learn to not fall behind. In the future, no matter where I work, I still want to maintain myself as a trustworthy news reporter."

The sharing of 3 reporters at the Culture, Information and Communication Centers, although not representative of all reporters working at the district level, somehow depicts the image of those who keep the "information bloodline" running from the province to the district and the people at the grassroots level.

District-level journalists are drawing colorful and vibrant pictures of their homeland that is developing day by day with their lenses, pens and sincere hearts. Amidst changes in organizational models, district-level journalists still choose to stick with, love and dedicate themselves to journalism, which has created sustainable values for grassroots journalism.
