According to the source, after visiting Saudi Arabia on July 17, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman witnessed the signing of bilateral cooperation agreements.

Saudi Arabia's Defense Minister Khalid bin Salman said Riyadh has "finalized" two contracts to purchase unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) with Ankara's defense company Baykar.

The deal will help the West Asian country strengthen its defense and production capabilities, as well as enhance the readiness of its armed forces in case of emergency.

Saudi Arabia is the first stop on President Erdogan's Gulf tour, with the hope of reaching many investment and financing agreements, contributing to solving the situation of limited budgets, high inflation and a weak domestic currency.

Over the past two years, the Turkish leader has sought to improve relations with Saudi Arabia, the Middle East's richest country, after bilateral ties were frozen over the 2018 murder of Washington Post journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul.

Ahead of the visit, the Turkish President's Office said that “all aspects of bilateral relations will be considered”, with a focus on the economy and investment projects.

Mr. Erdogan is expected to visit Qatar and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) before returning home on July 19.
