"Reaching the dream together" program to celebrate the establishment of the new Lao Cai province

On the evening of June 29, at Dinh Le Square, Lao Cai city, thousands of locals and tourists eagerly enjoyed the art program with the theme "Reaching for the dream together" and witnessed the low-altitude fireworks display.

This is a meaningful event to celebrate the establishment of Lao Cai province according to Resolution No. 202/2025/QH15 dated June 12, 2025 of the National Assembly on the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units. Speaking at the program, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lao Cai Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong stated: The merger of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces into the new Lao Cai province is a major, strategic policy of the Party and State to streamline the apparatus in order to build an efficient, effective and efficient apparatus; at the same time, opening up new development space, creating a stronger and more sustainable development momentum for the midland and mountainous regions of the North.

This is not only a combination of administrative boundaries, but also a blend of two unique cultures, two highly complementary development ecosystems - from urban, industrial, tourism to agriculture, forestry,education , healthcare...

This event opens up a new, larger, more potential development space, creating conditions to effectively promote endogenous resources and strongly attract external resources.

Mr. Trinh Xuan Truong emphasized: Today's art program is not only an activity to celebrate this important event, but also a deep gratitude to previous generations who have shed sweat and blood to build and protect the homeland of Lao Cai-Yen Bai.

This is also a call to each cadre, party member, citizen, and business to unite, join hands, and contribute to building a new Lao Cai province to develop rapidly and sustainably in the direction of "green, harmonious, unique, and happy," becoming a developed province of the region by 2030.

With a duration of 60 minutes, the special art performances were elaborately staged, combining tradition and modernity, praising the homeland and country, honoring the cultural traditions, history, and people of Lao Cai and Yen Bai, along with the development aspirations of the new Lao Cai province such as: Mashup "The call of the mountains and forests - The singing on Hoang Lien peak", "Inviting you to the Northwest", "Say Yen Bai", "Lao Cai - the city in the clouds", "Vietnam's aspiration for greatness", "Lao Cai new day..."

Interspersed in the art program are two reports "Lao Cai past and present" and "Lao Cai in the new day" depicting the journey, the path of development, and the changes of the border land of Lao Cai; bringing to viewers feelings of pride, emotion, and unforgettable impressions in each historical milestone of the homeland.

At the end of the Art Program, continuing the joyful and exciting emotions, the audience enjoyed a colorful fireworks party in the Lao Cai night sky for 15 minutes.

From July 1, after the reorganization, Lao Cai province (new) has a natural area of 13,256.92 km2, population of 1,778,785 people. The new province has 99 commune-level administrative units, including 89 communes and 10 wards./.
