Green development according to local characteristics
With the industrial parks (IPs) that have been, are being and will be invested in, Bau Bang district has determined early on that it must follow the direction of green industry. Mr. Nguyen Phu Cuong, Chairman of Bau Bang District People's Committee, said that since the early days of the district's establishment, the locality has determined that it must develop industry in a clean, green and sustainable direction. IPs ensure environmental safety distances, while encouraging the conversion of models to ecological IPs to reduce emissions and increase resource efficiency. The district arranges enterprises into industry clusters to limit environmental conflicts. Industries that cause little pollution and use resources efficiently are prioritized by the district to attract investment.
In fact, industrial parks in Bau Bang district have all developed their own environmental protection plans, from waste collection and treatment to environmental incident response. There are pioneering clean production enterprises, such as Fine Chemical Company Limited, which uses clean plastic pellets, does not emit into the environment, and recycles defective products on the spot; Ampacs International Company Limited invests in a closed technology line, applying a circular model.
Mr. Pham Van Bong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment: The results achieved in environmental protection and green development in recent times are evidence of the regular, synchronous and focused coordination between agencies, departments, localities, units and the community. With the joint efforts of the whole society, Binh Duong localities will continue to become the leading localities in building a green - clean - beautiful living environment, a place worth living and developing sustainably. |
While Bau Bang district focuses on developing clean industry and building ecological industrial parks, Phu Giao district promotes the advantages of high-tech, environmentally friendly agriculture. The whole district has more than 870 production facilities applying high technology in cultivation and animal husbandry. According to the district's Department of Agriculture and Environment, households have been proactively changing their farming practices, boldly applying techniques such as growing melons in greenhouses, drip irrigation, fertilizing through water, etc. to help save resources and protect the land. In particular, many agricultural models in the district have met VietGAP standards and are aiming for organic agriculture.
Along with agriculture, Phu Giao district also plans to develop ecological industrial clusters. Currently, the infrastructure of Tam Lap 2 Industrial Cluster is being invested synchronously, choosing a location far from residential areas, convenient for transportation, ensuring environmental safety. In addition, the district also promotes organic production, integrating environmental content into agricultural extension and vocational training programs. The combination of green agriculture and ecological industry is helping Phu Giao maintain a clean living environment, while creating a solid foundation for sustainable economic development. Mr. To Van Dat, Chairman of Phu Giao District People's Committee, emphasized: "Developing industrial clusters must go hand in hand with preserving ecology. The district focuses on investing in agricultural processing industries, supporting industries, and limiting industries that pose a risk of causing pollution."
Spread the green living spirit
Binh Duong is showing strong determination in environmental protection. From the government to the people, from mass organizations to the community, the spirit of green living is spreading more and more clearly. Up to now, the whole province has had 99 models of self-management of environmental protection in residential areas and religious establishments with the participation of 13,500 members; along with that, 604 environmental self-management groups in 587 residential areas have been maintained and promoted effectively. Models such as mobilizing people to perform civilized funerals, maintain environmental hygiene, environmental protection models and respond to climate change are highly appreciated by the people.
In localities, creative and effective models continue to be promoted. Specifically, in Di An City and Thuan An City, there is a model of classifying domestic solid waste at source; Tan Uyen City and Dau Tieng District mobilize each household to plant and care for trees in front of their house; Thu Dau Mot City has a program "Each person plants at least one tree"; Phu Giao District and Bac Tan Uyen District have expanded the green and clean agricultural and livestock model, from growing clean vegetables and fruits to safe aquaculture, utilizing biogas with biogas bags; in Ben Cat City, the movement of classifying waste at source is being actively implemented by people...
Mass organizations continue to be the core force promoting the implementation of environmental protection models. Specifically, the Women's Union has implemented the models "No-Garbage Routes", "Green Roofs", "Saving Scrap - Charity Rice Jars"; the Youth Union with the models "Green Office", "Green Motel", "Beautiful Street Corners" has contributed to planting and caring for more than 1 million trees in the past 5 years, building nearly 500 bright - green - clean - beautiful roads; the Farmers' Association has implemented the model "No-Garbage Residential Area", "Collecting Pesticide Packaging and Instructing Organic Waste Composting"; the Veterans' Association maintains 510 environmental self-management groups; the Labor Federation has the movement "Union Tree Garden", each union member plants at least one tree, creating a friendly living space in industrial parks and residential areas...
Mr. Pham Van Bong, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said that environmental protection propaganda is always a key and continuous task. Training, organizing competitions, and integrating environmental protection propaganda into emulation movements have contributed to equipping the community, especially young people and grassroots cadres, with knowledge and skills to protect the environment. Environmental protection activities are a synchronous participation from the political system to the people. The coordination between the Department of Agriculture and Environment, the Vietnam Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations has created a combined strength in raising awareness and changing the community's behavior on environmental protection.
According to the Department of Agriculture and Environment, from planning orientation to specific actions, localities in the province are gradually changing on the journey of environmental protection. Despite different economic characteristics, localities in the province all show one thing in common: Economic development does not trade off the environment. When each locality, each enterprise and each person joins hands, Binh Duong will not only be an industrial locomotive but also a bright spot in green economic development in the Southern Key Economic Zone. |
