At Phan Thiet Secondary School, the number of students returning from Ha Giang (old) is over 50. Currently, the school is reviewing its facilities, preparing the most optimal plans for receiving students and teaching in the new school year. Teacher Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Principal of the school, shared: Through the initial review, the school encountered some difficulties in enrollment such as: lack of facilities, lack of teachers. In the immediate future, the school will rearrange classrooms, renovate subject rooms into classrooms, reassign tasks to each teacher... to ensure the best conditions to welcome more students from Ha Giang (old) as well as to start the new school year.
As the school that welcomes students back to school the earliest in the province, Le Van Tam Primary School, Minh Xuan Ward, is expected to welcome 23 students from Ha Giang this year. Teacher Nguyen Viet Hai, the school's principal, said that in the new school year, the school has 926 students from grades 1 to 5. To ensure the best for new students, the school proactively arranges them into classes scientifically , promptly overcoming the lack of facilities and teachers. The school rearranges classrooms, reassigns tasks to each teacher, especially helping new students quickly adapt to the new environment.

This year, most of the students transferred from Ha Giang (old) are concentrated in schools in Minh Xuan ward. Comrade Ngo Tuan Anh, Head of the Department of Culture and Society of Minh Xuan ward, said that in the ward there are currently more than 20 public and private schools of all levels, including special schools such as Le Quy Don Secondary School or Specialized High School. Since the beginning of July, the ward has directed schools to prepare the best conditions to welcome students, only a few special schools such as Le Quy Don Secondary School and Specialized High School will follow the direction of the Department of Education and Training.
The issue of welcoming students from Ha Giang (old) back has been proactively implemented by all schools. Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy Hong, Principal of Tan Trao Kindergarten, Minh Xuan Ward, said that in the 2025-2026 school year, the school has more than 430 students. With the current facilities, the school is expected to be able to receive 50 more students who have transferred to the provincial center with their parents. Because there are not enough conditions to open new classes, the school has proactively come up with plans, allocating students to class groups, ensuring conditions for receiving students and organizing teaching and learning according to regulations.
Efforts for dear students
The Department of Education and Training has issued Document No. 189/SGDĐT - GDPT on receiving students transferring schools due to the province's merger. Accordingly, the Department requires schools to ensure teaching quality, creating favorable conditions for cadres, civil servants, and workers from Ha Giang (old) to work with peace of mind. In case there is a large demand for students transferring, requiring additional classes, schools must proactively rearrange classrooms, classrooms, and subject classrooms; re-approve the education development plans of schools with changes in class size and students for the 2025-2026 school year; at the same time, 2 advise competent authorities to mobilize and second teachers to meet the requirements due to the increase in the number of classes.
Comrade Bui Quang Tri, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training, said that as soon as the request to merge the provinces before July 1 was implemented, the Department of Education issued a document directing schools in Tuyen Quang to arrange to increase the number of students to the maximum possible number in a class. If there is a number of students that require opening more schools, we are also ready to work with schools to ensure facilities, as well as the assignment of teachers to ensure teaching and learning organization when increasing the number of classes.

The number of students has increased, but most schools have proactively planned. Hong Thai Secondary School, Minh Xuan Ward, is expected to welcome over 20 students this year. Ms. Nguyen Thi Tuyen, the school's principal, said that when more students are added, the school will have to increase the number of students in each class, but will still create the best conditions for students to study. Although the school is currently short of about 5 teachers, due to the nature of the industry, teachers are still overcoming difficulties and staying in class to ensure teaching and learning conditions for students.
Sharing the same opinion, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Principal of Phan Thiet Secondary School, cited that this year's 8th grade class has 7 classes, 370 students, including 11 students from Ha Giang (old). According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, each class currently has 52/45 students. The school is asking for opinions from superiors about separating 1 more 8th grade class to bring the number of students closer to the regulations.
As a special school, Tuyen Quang Specialized High School is preparing the best conditions to welcome Ha Giang (former) students to study under the guidance of the Department of Education and Training. Document No. 141/QD - SGDĐT of the Department of Education and Training on admission to Tuyen Quang Specialized High School clearly states that it will create favorable conditions for students studying at Ha Giang Specialized High School to transfer to Tuyen Quang Specialized High School to study after the province's merger. Students studying in a specialized class will take the exam for the corresponding specialized class. Ms. Pham Thi Tuyet Lan, Ha Giang Ward 2, shared that as soon as the Department of Education and Training issued the document, her family encouraged and accompanied her to prepare her best mentally for the entrance exam to the Specialized School. She is currently focusing on reviewing to prepare for the upcoming exam. Student Hoang Tien Phuc, Ha Giang Ward 1, said that he had just passed the English specialized exam at Ha Giang Specialized High School. This time, when taking the entrance exam at Tuyen Quang Specialized High School, he will try his best to study his favorite specialized subject.
After the merger, the province currently has 1,054 schools, including 7 non-public schools; 1,803 satellite schools, 17,217 groups/classes with 493,707 students. Implementing two-level local government will have changes in state management of education, especially with many students moving to the provincial center with their parents, raising issues regarding the arrangement and arrangement of facilities, teaching staff, and procedures for receiving students. Based on the Ministry's guiding documents, the direction of the Provincial People's Committee and practical requirements, the Education sector continues to provide timely advice on educational management, ensuring that there are no gaps or interruptions in tasks, especially now when educational institutions are entering the enrollment season and preparing for the new school year.
Teacher Nguyen Thi Hang Ensure the best conditions to welcome students The Specialized High School has 33 classes, with a total of over 1,000 students. Up to now, 22 students have registered to study at the Specialized School. Implementing the direction of the Department of Education and Training in Document No. 141/QD - SGDĐT dated August 8, 2025 on Approving the Plan for additional enrollment to Tuyen Quang Specialized High School, school year 2025 - 2026, the school is urgently preparing all good conditions. Teacher Luu Thi Thanh Binh Care and help new students This year, the school received 43 students transferred from Ha Giang (old). Of which, class 8B, which I am in charge of, has 3 students. The current class size is 50 students. New school, new class, new friends, the students will inevitably feel confused at first, so I often encourage and get close to them to help them get used to it. In the class, there are also meetings between students so that they can get acquainted, make friends and integrate into the new environment. Teachers also regularly exchange with students to grasp the learning and psychological situation, and support them together. In addition, teachers also proactively promote the merger, the positive changes that students can receive, thereby arousing love for the homeland and country in each student. Ms. Nguyen Thuy Duong, Minh Xuan ward Get timely help from schools My family has just moved from Ha Giang 1 ward to Minh Xuan ward. To facilitate work and take care of my child, I registered for my child to transfer to Phan Thiet Primary School. The Department of Education has transferred the list of children to the school according to the family's wishes. Right from the end of July, although it was still summer vacation, teachers of Phan Thiet Primary School called, guided, and supported the child's admission procedures quickly. At the same time, they guided me to buy textbooks, uniforms, arranged me in a class with appropriate number of students, and regularly asked about and encouraged my child so that he could feel secure about studying at the new school. The timely, thoughtful, and close support of the school helped my child's transfer to the new school smoothly, and my parents could work with peace of mind. I am Nguyen Manh Tung. Quickly integrate to study well I have just transferred from Minh Khai Secondary School to Hong Thai Secondary School.
