On August 18, the Party Committee of Di An Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, held its first Congress for the 2025-2030 term, with the participation of 249 delegates, representing more than 3,500 party members in the entire Party Committee.
Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee , attended and directed.
At the congress, the decision of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee on appointing the Party Executive Committee of Di An ward consisting of 33 people was announced.
Mr. Vo Van Hong was appointed as Secretary of the Ward Party Committee; Mr. Ho Hong Minh as Permanent Deputy Secretary and Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Thuy as Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the Ward People's Committee.
Take good care of people's lives and beautify the city
According to the political report, during the 2020 - 2025 term, Di An ward has promoted the tradition of solidarity, raised the responsibility of daring to think, daring to do, daring to take responsibility. In each stage, clearly identified key tasks, exploited and used local advantages.
During the last term, Di An ward had three zones and one industrial cluster with more than 1,290 operating enterprises (an increase of 321 enterprises). Trade and services developed rapidly and diversified, especially in high-quality fields, meeting the consumption needs of the people.
Notably, Di An ward is a locality with a large number of immigrants and high population density.
In recent times, Di An ward has completed planning, reviewing, adjusting, and supplementing urban development and beautification planning. The entire ward has 58 residential, commercial housing, and high-rise housing projects, basically meeting the housing needs of residents and workers.
The ward has also implemented administrative reform solutions associated with digital transformation, ensuring social security and welfare and improving the quality of life of the people. From there, building Di An ward into a smart, modern, humane and livable urban area.
During the 2025-2030 term, the Di An Ward Party Committee has launched three breakthrough programs. Including the Action Program on improving the quality of cadres and civil servants to meet local development requirements in the 2025-2030 period; the Action Program on renovating, embellishing and developing urban areas in Di An Ward until 2030; the Action Program on building digital government and digital citizens in the 2025-2030 period.
The ward also focuses on five tasks and solutions. Notably, it focuses on investing the budget in administrative reform and digital transformation. It focuses on reviewing administrative procedures and cutting unnecessary procedures to avoid inconvenience to people and businesses.
At the same time, increase the proportion of trade and services in the economic development structure of the ward. Encourage and create favorable conditions to attract economic sectors to invest in developing trade and services, especially high-quality services.
The ward will also plan and invest in synchronous infrastructure associated with inter-regional traffic corridors, building and developing sustainable urban areas in a smart direction...
Ensure a safe and clean environment
Speaking at the congress, Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee Nguyen Van Duoc highly appreciated the results that the Party Committee, government and people of Di An ward have achieved in the past term.
Mr. Duoc emphasized that in recent times, Di An ward has done a good job in developing urban infrastructure, making the urban appearance of the ward more spacious, more beautiful, and cleaner.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc, Di An ward is the most populous ward in Ho Chi Minh City, the second most populous in the country, with a large number of immigrants coming here to work and live. This puts great pressure on social security and order.
However, Di An ward has taken good care of people's lives in terms of education , health care, housing, etc., demonstrating the great efforts of the Party Committee and government of Di An ward.
The Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City hopes that Di An ward will continue to inherit, promote and better perform the tasks set out in the Resolution. In particular, it will pay special attention and focus on taking care of people's lives in terms of health, education, housing, security and order...
“Di An Ward is a ward bordering the old Ho Chi Minh City and Binh Duong area. Therefore, the security and order situation is complicated. The Di An Ward government must pay attention to this issue. If they want people to live and work in peace, they must ensure a safe and healthy living environment. Only then will people's lives be truly happy and the economy will develop,” Mr. Duoc emphasized.
The leaders of Ho Chi Minh City also requested the Party Committee of Di An Ward to pay attention to the task of urban beautification. Referring to urban re-planning, re-planning industrial parks, residential areas, boarding houses, etc., Mr. Nguyen Van Duoc noted that the ward must plan and re-plan systematically, mobilize social resources for effective implementation. Coordinate with other sectors, pay attention to the construction of metro line No. 1 and railway lines passing through the ward.
In particular, Di An ward must increasingly improve administrative reform to serve the people. In the future, it must resolve non-administrative boundary records for people and businesses.
“Any citizen or business in the city that needs to process a file must be handled by Di An ward. We must shift our mindset from administration to service, putting the satisfaction of the people and businesses first,” Mr. Duoc emphasized.
At the end of his speech, the Chairman of Ho Chi Minh City requested the Party Committee of Di An Ward to quickly put the Resolution into practice. "That is not only the expectation of the City leaders but also the expectation of the people and businesses," he added.
After merging and operating the 2-level government on July 1, Di An ward became the most populous ward in Ho Chi Minh City and the second most populous in the country.
Di An Ward was established on the basis of merging Di An Ward, An Binh Ward and 6 neighborhoods of Tan Dong Hiep Ward, with an area of 21.375 km² and a population of 227,817 people.
The ward Party Committee has 61 branches and affiliated Party Committees, including six grassroots Party Committees (with 37 affiliated Party Committees), nine grassroots Party Committees, one Thong Nhat 1 Ward Party Committee (with five Party Committees) and 45 affiliated Party Committees.
The total number of party members in the entire Party Committee is 3,504 people.
