Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong attended the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Van Ban District

On May 28, Van Ban district solemnly held the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities of Van Ban district, term 2024 - 2029.

Attending the congress were comrade Trinh Xuan Truong, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of a number of provincial departments and branches; leaders of Van Ban district and 150 delegates representing more than 81,000 ethnic minorities in the district.

In the period of 2019 - 2024, there are 5 major policies on ethnic work implemented in Van Ban district, with a total direct and indirect support budget of hundreds of billions of VND. Of which: support for production development of 5.8 billion VND; preservation and promotion of national identity values of 2.9 billion VND; infrastructure construction of 7.4 billion VND... Thereby contributing significantly to the implementation of the common development goals and targets of the district and national target programs; the appearance of ethnic minority and mountainous areas has many positive changes; socio -economic infrastructure has been gradually completed; the income of ethnic minorities has been raised.

The result of reducing the poverty rate among ethnic minorities in the district according to the multidimensional poverty standard reached 5.09%; the lighting system, roads, schools, and medical stations were solidly invested.

Speaking at the congress, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Trinh Xuan Truong acknowledged and commended the results achieved by Van Ban district in ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policies in recent times.

The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requested that in the period of 2024 - 2029, Van Ban continue to thoroughly grasp the guidelines, policies and ethnic policies of the Party, State and locality; focus on effectively implementing 3 national target programs; complete the goals set in 2024 and the period of 2021 - 2025....

The congress discussed and clarified the results and limitations in ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policies; commended and rewarded 11 collectives and 26 individuals who were outstanding in ethnic work and implementation of ethnic policies; and elected 23 delegates to attend the higher-level congress.

In the spirit of solidarity and unity, the congress passed a resolution to carry out the tasks for the 2024-2029 period, with the goals of: continuing to effectively deploy capital sources for national target programs; shortening the development gap between ethnic groups; no more extremely disadvantaged villages; developing human resources in ethnic minority areas in the direction of ensuring the quantity according to the assigned ratio, improving the quality of ethnic minority cadres, especially female cadres; consolidating the grassroots political system; maintaining the great solidarity of ethnic groups, ensuring security and national defense...
