After the merger, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has a total of 102 civil servants and 418 public employees. Specifically, the Department's Board of Directors has 10 people, including 1 Director, 9 Deputy Directors; 14 Department Heads and 19 Deputy Department Heads; 69 civil servants with 5 specialized departments: Office, Department of Cultural Management, Department of Sports Management, Department of Press Information and Publishing, Department of Financial Planning.
There are 36 civil servants from Dak Nong and Binh Thuan provinces registered to work at the new Department; 290 officials registered to work at 8 public service units under the new Department.
In the first 6 months of the year, the 3 unmerged provinces of Lam Dong, Dak Nong, and Binh Thuan have organized many cultural, family, press, publishing, sports, tourism, and administrative reform activities. Notable among them are activities to celebrate the establishment of the new Lam Dong province; successfully organizing a series of award ceremonies, seminars, and meetings to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day...
The work of preserving and promoting the value of historical and cultural relics and scenic spots has achieved many positive results. The movement of the whole people uniting to build a cultural life continues to be promoted with many good and typical advanced models; the management of the construction and implementation of village covenants and conventions has been well implemented.
Sports activities are organized with attention and have achieved many achievements; in which, high-performance sports participated in 17 sports with 588 athletes and won 286 medals. The province is currently training 740 talented athletes in sports to meet the needs of the national team, participating in national, regional and international tournaments.
In the first 6 months of 2025, the total number of tourists to Lam Dong is estimated at more than 12.1 million, reaching 54.21% of the plan, up 20.26% over the same period; of which, international visitors are estimated at 798,310; domestic visitors are estimated at more than 11.3 million.
The plan for 2025 is to strive to reach 22.4 million visitors; of which international visitors: 1.28 million, domestic visitors: 21.1 million. Overnight visitors: 19.9 million.

The province currently has 4,203 tourist accommodation establishments with a total of 66,023 rooms; including 110 3-5 star hotels with 11,266 rooms ; 126 travel agencies; 1,059 tour guides; 99 tourist areas and attractions; of which, 30 tourist areas and attractions have been recognized by the Provincial People's Committee, including: 2 national tourist areas, 4 provincial tourist areas and 24 tourist attractions.
Departments, branches, and specialized offices raised many practical issues on heritage conservation; promoting the cultural identity of 49 ethnic groups; developing cultural industries; promoting mass sports movements in every school and residential area; and socializing high-performance sports.
At the same time, it is recommended to promote the application of digital technology in culture and tourism; increase investment attraction, exploit all potentials and advantages, diversify tourism products, turn Lam Dong into an attractive destination of forests, seas and flowers; remove difficulties in agricultural tourism and tourism on the surface of irrigation lakes.
Speaking at the conference, comrade Ho Van Muoi - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee affirmed the potential advantages for developing culture, sports and tourism of Lam Dong province. However, at this time we need to find the right path, preserve traditional culture, develop cultural industry, build the tourism brand of Lam Dong of thousands of flowers, Lam Dong of blue sea, Lam Dong of great forests.
It is necessary to build a cultural event every week, organize large-scale shows, perform gongs of indigenous peoples to create a street art space, perform Apsara dances of the Cham people; promote culinary cultural values... create unique tourism products to attract tourists.
Maintain the operation of museums, preserve and promote the value of artifacts of the land and people of all ethnic groups. Pay attention to building prosperous, equal, progressive and happy families, and start developing family economy.
Implement socialization of high-performance sports, promote mass sports movements, and spread them throughout the population with sports suitable to the conditions, circumstances, and environment of each climate sub-region.
With the advantages of tourism, it is necessary to rearrange tours, creating closed tours in the province, taking tourists to visit from the sea, to flowers, to the great forest and especially experience the 141 km long border with forests, waterfalls and streams.
In addition to connecting a tour route within the province, comrade Ho Van Muoi suggested that it is necessary to connect domestic and international tours via international flights. Not limited to the central area, it is necessary to expand the space, develop tourism to create a strong and solid tripod. Continue to promote digital transformation in the fields of culture, sports, and tourism.
The Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee has high expectations for the leadership capacity of the Department's Board of Directors, along with the staff of civil servants and public employees of the sector. In the next 6 months, it is necessary to ensure security, order and safety for tourists; aim for friendly tourism, polite behavior, each citizen is a tour guide; build a tourism environment without car horns, no smoking in public places; and create a clean, green and beautiful landscape.
With a large and strong force after the merger, the industry needs to promote its total strength to develop economy - tourism, economy - culture, economy - sports with a determined and drastic spirit.
