National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue arrives in Tehran, starting official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran

During his official visit to Iran, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is expected to hold talks and meetings with senior Iranian leaders.

On the morning of August 8, Politburo member and National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly arrived at Mehrabad Airport in Tehran, starting an official visit to the Islamic Republic of Iran at the invitation of National Assembly Chairman Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf.

Welcoming National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the delegation at the airport were Vice Chairman of the Iranian Parliament Mojtaba Zolnoori and Chairman of the Iran-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group Jalil Rahimi Jahanabadi.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Iran Luong Quoc Huy, along with embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Iran, warmly welcomed the delegation at the airport.

During his official visit to Iran, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue is expected to hold talks and meet with senior Iranian leaders; attend a number of cultural, economic, and foreign affairs activities; and meet with officials and staff of the Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Iran.

Iran and Vietnam have good friendly relations. The two countries established diplomatic relations on August 4, 1973.

The high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese National Assembly led by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue paid an official visit to Iran to continue implementing the foreign policy of the 13th National Party Congress, proactively and actively consolidating and expanding the foundation of political relations; promoting effective and substantive cooperation between the two countries in all fields, through all channels: Party, National Assembly, Government and people-to-people exchange; enhancing trust with partner countries and traditional friends; contributing to strengthening the friendship and cooperation with Iran in the fields of politics - diplomacy, economy, culture, education, science, technology, agriculture; promoting substantive cooperation between ministries, branches and localities between the two countries...

The official visit to Iran by National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue took place on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations (1973-2023) and nearly 25 years after the National Assembly Presidium Nong Duc Manh visited Iran in 1999 and more than 5 years after the official visit to Vietnam by Iranian Parliament Chairman Ali Ardeshir Larijani in April 2018.
