At the reception, National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man conveyed his deep condolences to the leaders of the Lao Party, State and people on the passing of comrade Khamtay Siphandone, former Chairman of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and former President of Laos.
The National Assembly Chairman announced that high-ranking Vietnamese leaders have sent condolences to the Lao Party, State and people. General Secretary To Lam led a delegation of Vietnamese Party and State leaders to pay their respects to Khamtay Siphandone on April 3. The Vietnamese National Assembly has sent Vice Chairman Nguyen Khac Dinh to join the delegation. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh will soon lead a high-ranking delegation of the Vietnamese Government to attend the memorial service on April 7.
National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man sent his regards to the Lao National Assembly Chairman and members of the Lao National Assembly Leadership Board.
Chairman of the Lao National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee Sanya Praseuth sincerely thanked National Assembly Chairman Tran Thanh Man for taking the time to receive the delegation and expressed his emotion at the attention and condolences of the leaders of the Party, State and Government of Vietnam to the Lao Party, State, Government and people for this great loss.
The two sides agreed to continue to strengthen close and effective cooperation between the two National Assemblies in the coming time.
