VHO - Towards the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2, on the afternoon of June 7, the Center - Museum of Heritage of Vietnamese Scientists organized a scientific seminar in Hanoi, to recognize the contributions of intellectuals in the cause of protecting and building the country.
The seminar “Contributions of Vietnamese scientists in the cause of national defense and development” is a preliminary activity to prepare for the thematic exhibition “Imprints of Vietnamese scientists in the cause of national defense and development”, which will open in August 2025 at the Heritage Park of Vietnamese Scientists ( Hoa Binh ).
The seminar is an opportunity to look back comprehensively, objectively and respectfully at the great contributions of Vietnamese intellectuals and scientists over the past nearly 80 years - from the early days of regaining national independence to the period of resistance, post-war national construction, innovation and international integration.
The presentations at the seminar focused on clarifying the role and contributions of scientists over the past nearly 80 years: from the period of fighting for independence and resistance, to the period of national development, innovation and international integration. Many important fields such as agriculture , medicine, education, technology, natural sciences and social sciences and humanities have all recorded the persistent, silent and profound presence of Vietnamese scientists.
Delegates also emphasized the role of science and technology in building independent science, training intellectuals to serve socio-economic development, protecting national sovereignty, and improving people's lives.
In particular, the seminar is an opportunity to exchange approaches and convey scientific and historical heritage to the public in a lively and effective way in the new context.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Nguyen Thanh Hoa, Director of the Center - Museum of Heritage of Vietnamese Scientists shared: "The discussion not only aims to recognize and honor scientists, but also serves as a bridge connecting history and the present, between generations of intellectuals, thereby spreading humanistic values and the spirit of dedication to the community".
Established in 2007, the Center - Museum of Heritage of Vietnamese Scientists is the first non-public museum in Vietnam specializing in collecting, preserving and promoting the heritage of the scientific community.
Up to now, the Center - Museum of Heritage of Vietnamese Scientists has worked with more than 7,000 scientists, preserved more than 1 million valuable documents and artifacts, organized many highly appreciated thematic exhibitions such as "Aspiration to learn and create" , "Deep in each souvenir" , "Story of the geological profession" , "Science: creativity and dedication"...
