In the first 11 months of 2023, the CPI increased by 1.6% over the same period last year. According to the authorities, the consumer market has been generally stable since the beginning of the year, and the price increase of basic goods has been controlled. Goods with strong fluctuations are mainly concentrated in the groups of food, foodstuffs, gasoline, electricity and water for daily life, and the increase was concentrated in the first months of the year; in the last months of the year, the prices of these goods gradually stabilized. The general difficulties of the economy have limited the demand for luxury and high-value items, so retailers tend to reduce prices to stimulate consumption.

The General Statistics Office forecasts that in December 2023, the demand for purchasing goods for the New Year and Lunar New Year will increase, prices of some essential goods will tend to increase, therefore, the retail price index of goods and services in December 2023 is expected to increase accordingly.
