This afternoon (February 16), Dong Nai province authorities are investigating the cause of the fire at the 500kV transformer station in Loc An commune, Long Thanh district.

According to initial information, at noon the same day, a fire suddenly broke out in phase B area, transformer AT1 inside the 500kV Long Thanh transformer station. The column of black smoke rose tens of meters high.

Detecting the incident, staff at the station used on-site fire fighting equipment to control the fire and reported it to the authorities.

Upon receiving the news, Long Thanh District Police and the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department - Dong Nai Provincial Police mobilized 3 fire trucks and 20 officers and soldiers to the scene to put out the fire.

Authorities quickly sprayed water to cool the fire and used specialized foam to control and completely extinguish the fire after about 30 minutes.

The fire did not cause any human casualties or affect the power supply to the area, but many devices in the transformer station were damaged.

Immediately afterwards, Power Transmission Company 4 mobilized many employees to replace equipment and urgently restore operations to ensure stable power supply to the load.

Currently, the authorities are coordinating with Power Transmission Company 4 to investigate and clarify the cause of the above incident.
