Warning about the trick of impersonating the Thanh Hoa Provincial Social Insurance agency to commit fraud

(Baothanhhoa.vn) - Recently, the Social Insurance Agency of Thanh Hoa province has received some information reflecting from people who have been approached by scammers with content related to social insurance and health insurance policies. People need to be especially vigilant and contact the official channels of the Social Insurance to avoid being taken advantage of and scammed by bad guys.

According to the report, the subjects used the following phone numbers: 0904.038.115; 0994.311.220; 0936.417.600; 0994.311.201... and claimed to be officers working at Thanh Hoa Provincial Social Insurance, asking people to go to the Social Insurance agency to update and add personal information to the health insurance card, synchronize CCCD data and update information on the VssID application - Social Insurance number.

Thanh Hoa Provincial Social Insurance recommends that people be vigilant: When you see a strange number calling claiming to be a Social Insurance officer, do not answer the phone and absolutely do not follow the subject's instructions.

Specifically: Do not make friends on Zalo, do not click on strange links or provide OTP codes or personal passwords to strangers to avoid being taken advantage of or scammed.

When detecting suspicious signs, people are requested to immediately report to the local police or social insurance agency for timely support.

This is not the first time scammers have appeared. Previously, Vietnam Social Security has issued many warnings about impersonating agencies, officials and employees of social security agencies to scam people. At the same time, it has sent documents requesting relevant authorities to promptly prevent and handle organizations and individuals with violations and widely inform people and employees.

Social Insurance recommends that people should be more vigilant when carrying out administrative procedures related to social insurance and health insurance to avoid being taken advantage of and scammed by bad guys. In addition, people also need to improve their knowledge of laws and policies on social insurance, unemployment insurance and health insurance; regularly monitor announcements from authorities about criminal methods and scams on mass media.
