Warning of scams taking advantage of the 100,000 VND gift policy on September 2nd

HNN.VN - On August 29, Hue City Police warned people to be vigilant against the phenomenon of some people taking advantage of the Government's gift of 100,000 VND on the occasion of Independence Day.

Currently, many banks can link to social security accounts on VNeID.

A common scam scenario is that subjects call, send messages asking for personal information, bank accounts or click on fake links/QR codes to "support money receiving operations". People should absolutely not provide personal information, not follow instructions on strange links and should verify information from official channels of the State. At the same time, propagate to relatives and families to raise vigilance, not to be gullible before attractive invitations, especially offers to receive support money.

As soon as they notice signs of fraud, people can immediately report it to the local police or call the police station on duty where they live for answers and support.

Previously, the Politburo issued an official dispatch requesting relevant units to focus on close coordination, immediately deploy the review of gift recipients and transfer the gifts to people by appropriate measures, including bank transfer or directly. With the form of bank transfer, people need to link their social security accounts on VNeID (can only be done when having a level 2 identification account). After linking, people can wait to receive 100,000 VND on the occasion of September 2 from the State.

In cases where people do not have a level 2 identification account or do not have a bank account, they can receive it directly from the authorities.
