Loyal to folk music materials, trying to be creative, exploring development directions to reconcile respect for traditional music with market trends - which govern the ability to succeed of a young singer in the current period - Phuong My Chi has had a memorable experience.
With a fairly full contemporary folk music background, cultivated through participating in a number of "hot" domestic music playgrounds, releasing MVs..., in recent weeks, Phuong My Chi has begun to try her hand at the international music stage. That is participating in the show "Sing! Asia" with a series of stops in Asian countries. In particular, at Station 1 taking place in Ha Long (Vietnam), the girl born in Ho Chi Minh City had her first victory with the contemporary folk song "Buon Trang". And it is impossible not to mention Phuong My Chi's impressive victory that took place on June 27, in the quarter-finals in Hong Kong (China), against a famous young singer of the host country when she performed quite well the song "Bong Phu Hoa" in both Vietnamese and Chinese, showing off her traditional Vietnamese music background...
“Sing! Asia” is an international music competition with the participation of 32 singers from Japan, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Thailand, Indonesia... Highly entertaining, the international jury includes market music stars (Vietnam has singer Dan Truong), “Sing! Asia” is enthusiastically received by young people in Asia, after all, it is a “launching pad” to bring the names of participating singers to the international stage. In this competition, for Phuong My Chi, the memorable thing is not necessarily the level of achievement, but the opportunity to test yourself in a new international music playground as well as the ability to spread traditional Vietnamese culture.
