AS said Vinicius decided to postpone contract renewal negotiations until the end of the 2025/26 season. Previously, Real Madrid and Vinicius had an initial agreement to sign a new contract with a salary of 20 million euros per season, along with performance bonuses.

According to Cadena SER , the reason for the delay is due to higher financial demands from Vinicius, which Real Madrid do not accept.

However, both sides have not cut off negotiations but decided to postpone until the end of the season, when Real Madrid will re-evaluate the results of the whole season and make a decision.

According to AS , Vinicius has no intention of leaving Real Madrid, but he feels he deserves to be paid more for his contributions to the club over the years.

Coach Xabi Alonso also backed Vinicius, insisting that the Brazilian striker remains an important part of the squad. “I am very happy with him. Vinicius has shown great influence from the bench and I wish him a great season,” said Alonso.
