The entrance exam for grade 10 at Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted has ended with many surprises. Among them, Dinh Le Gia Linh (class 9A4, Thach Linh Secondary School, Ha Tinh City) shone when she excellently won the top position in the Geography class with a total score of 52.25 (Math 8; English 9.5; Literature 9.25; Geography 8.5 - specialized subject). This is a testament to her passion and persistent efforts throughout the past journey.

It is known that throughout 4 years of secondary school, Gia Linh was continuously an excellent student, loved by teachers and friends not only for her academic achievements but also for her serious learning attitude and eagerness to learn. However, it was not until the end of 8th grade that her passion for Geography was truly "awakened".

Passion and determination helped Gia Linh put her name on the impressive list of valedictorians of Ha Tinh Specialized High School.

In 8th grade, Gia Linh won third prize in the city-level Literature competition, but it was also during that time that her History - Geography teacher recognized her special qualities in her synthetic thinking, her sharpness in analyzing map data, and her ability to express logically. She was the one who guided and inspired Gia Linh's passion to try her hand at Geography.

“I still remember, she told me to consider Geography as a prism to look at the world , not just to study for exams but to study to understand the country, people, nature... I tried to approach the subject that way, and the more I studied, the more I loved and was passionate about it. I discovered that Geography is not as dry as I thought, but extremely lively and close” - Gia Linh shared.

From that turning point, Gia Linh devoted a lot of enthusiasm to pursuing this subject. She proactively searched for materials outside of textbooks, practiced intensively, learned how to draw and analyze charts... It was that seriousness that helped her reap sweet rewards when she won second prize at the city level and second prize at the provincial level in Geography at the 9th grade excellent student competitions.

Not only is Gia Linh a good student, she is also a good student.

Not only outstanding with excellent academic achievements, Gia Linh also makes teachers and friends admire her outstanding self-study ability. Ms. Le Thi Thanh - homeroom teacher of class 9A4 proudly commented: "Linh is very proactive and in-depth in her studies. She always knows how to set clear goals, listen to correct mistakes and especially never subjective. Besides, Linh is also very sociable, willing to share and help friends... Those are the qualities I really admire in her".

For Gia Linh, the secret to achieving great success does not lie in rote learning or dry mechanical review. Instead, the core is how she maintains and nurtures her deep passion for the subject. Linh always finds ways to connect book knowledge with real life, turning learning into an exciting journey of discovery . From observing the subtle changes in climate and weather every day, to passionately following nature discovery programs, or meticulously studying maps of each region... It is these unique, practical experiences and learning methods that have helped Gia Linh constantly expand her knowledge and achieve high results.

Behind every step of Gia Linh's progress is the silent but meaningful support and encouragement from her family. Ms. Le Pham Minh Ha - Linh's mother shared: "My family always respects all of my child's choices. When she expressed her love for Geography, although I was a bit surprised at first, I still did not stop her. Seeing her study with true passion, I could only silently support her. She is very obedient and independent, which makes the family extremely assured and only hopes that the road ahead for her will always be open."

When asked about her future plans, Gia Linh was determined: “I want to continue to study well at Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted, constantly improving my knowledge and skills to pursue bigger goals. For me, the next three years of school are not just a time to prepare for exams but also a valuable opportunity to explore myself, broaden my horizons and gradually realize my dream of contributing and bringing positive changes to the community.”
