Bugatti may have a few new toys on its shelves for the elite, such as the Tourbillon, which replaced the Chiron, and the Brouillard. The Brouillard is a one-off hypercar that retains the old W16 engine and is the first product of the newly created Programme Solitaire division. As a tribute to Ettore’s favorite horse, the all-new Bugatti Brouillard was commissioned by Michel Perridon, a Dutch businessman and owner of the world’s largest private Bugatti collection. It shares a similar exterior to the W16 Mistral, but each body panel is custom-made for this masterpiece.
But today’s article is not about the Bugatti Brouillard, but about the W16 Mistral on the used car market. There are a few points worth noting here, because ACE Cars Exclusive, the dealer behind the Bugatti W16 Mistral hypercar ad, has not shared any images of the actual car, despite claiming that it will be available for viewing. The car is said to have originally been shipped to Germany, and there is absolutely no information about the paint color or interior. The rare information is that this supercar can be exported to any country in the world, so no matter where you live, you can have it shipped to your door, although it will most likely cost you a pretty penny. Specifically, this car at the time of writing, it costs no less than 9,519,999 euros, including taxes, and is equivalent to nearly 11,100,000 dollars at the current exchange rate (more than 270 billion VND). For that amount of money, customers in the US can buy at least 17 brand new Lamborghini Revueltos, 22 Ferrari 12Cilindris, or 44 Porsche 911 GT3 RS supercars.
The center of attention for the Mistral Roadster is clearly the W16 engine (with 2 V8 engines arranged in a W shape), 8.0 liters capacity, 4 turbochargers, producing 1,577 horsepower similar to the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+ that reached a maximum speed of 490.484 km/h in 2019. The interior of the Bugatti W16 Mistral features premium leather, matte carbon fiber details and a sophisticated personalization system according to customer requirements. The engine cover is made entirely of carbon fiber, with polished aluminum accents, further highlighting the craftsmanship in every line. In terms of appearance, the lack of a roof means the W16 Mistral loses the Chiron's familiar C-shaped shape from glass to the base of the doors. But the C-shaped design is still retained, running from the top edge of the window to the air intake on the body. The front of the car stands out with a large horseshoe-shaped air intake, inspired by fighter planes like the MiG-15. The headlight cluster with horizontal LED strips is similar to La Vouiture Noire.
Meanwhile, the rear is the highlight when the taillights are shaped like an X like its "brother" Bolide. The large lower diffuser increases aerodynamic efficiency. The W16 Mistral is not only the fastest roadster ever produced, but also a solemn “farewell performance” for the W16 engine – a rare mechanical icon in the history of the automobile industry. Only 99 Bugatti Mistrals were produced worldwide.
