Bryan Mbeumo has signed a five-year contract, with an option for a year, becoming the Red Devils' third summer signing. Mbeumo also admitted that his decision was pressured by Brentford to reduce his wage demands, thereby helping the London team increase the transfer price. In fact, Brentford repeatedly prolonged the negotiations and demanded a price of up to 70 million pounds plus 7 million in additional fees. Finally, the two sides agreed on 65 million pounds plus 6 million in additional fees, to be paid in 4 installments.
