According to information from Hoang Mai Irrigation Enterprise - the lake management unit, the water level measured at Vuc Mau Lake, Hoang Mai Ward at 7:30 am on July 22 reached +19.95m, 1.79m higher than the design water level corresponding to the 75% frequency of +16.0m. To ensure safety, the lake began to discharge water from 3:00 pm on the same day, with an expected regulated flow rate of 5m³/s to 100m³/s. The spillway will continue until the lake water level drops to +17.00m.

The operating unit said it will closely monitor weather developments and flexibly adjust discharge flow, ensuring both proactive flood response and minimizing the risk of flooding in downstream areas.
Along with that, notification work has been widely deployed to local authorities in downstream areas, helping localities proactively respond and promptly inform people in areas at risk of being affected.

Vuc Mau Lake is located in Hoang Mai ward, with a water storage capacity of about 75 million m³ and flood prevention capacity of up to 125 million m³. This is a project that plays an important role in providing domestic water and irrigation for about 3,600 hectares of local agricultural land.
