The final opponent in the group stage of the U21 women's volleyball team of Vietnam is U21 Puerto Rico. This is a match in which the Southeast Asian representative no longer has much motivation because they are almost certain to be in second place in Group A.

Therefore, coach Nguyen Trong Linh let the pillars rest to regain their strength because the round of 16 will take place just 1 day later. Captain Dang Thi Hong, Ngo Thi Bich Hue, and Nguyen Phuong Quynh were on the bench. The replacements were Bui Thi Anh Thao, Pham Thuy Linh, and Le Nhu Anh.

Pham Quynh Huong, Khanh Huyen, Le Thi Linh and libero Kieu Vy were retained.

On the contrary, U21 Puerto Rico still has to field its strongest squad because it is not certain to get into the round of 16.

Right from set 1, Anh Thao and Quynh Huong caused a lot of trouble for the opponent with their attacks at the net. Meanwhile, the U21 Vietnam blockers operated effectively, successfully blocking many times. The Vietnamese women's volleyball team won easily 25-17 in set 1.

In set 2, coach Nguyen Trong Linh's team suddenly slowed down, making many mistakes in the first step. Meanwhile, their finishing was not as sharp as before.

So Puerto Rico unexpectedly created a big gap of 21-16. However, the more they played, the more confident U21 Vietnam regained. Pham Quynh Huong's serve caused discomfort, causing the opponent to make mistakes.

From here, the Vietnamese girls began to fight back, scoring 9 consecutive points to turn the score to 25-21.

In set 3, the U21 Vietnamese women's volleyball team let their opponents take the lead again. This time there was no comeback as they lost 23-25.

The match had to be extended to set 4. Fortunately, despite still having to chase, U21 Vietnam still won 25-22 to end the match with a score of 3-1.

Despite the victory, the Vietnamese women's volleyball team still only finished second in Group A. Their opponent in the round of 16 is the third-place team in Group C, which could be one of three names: Türkiye, the Czech Republic or Poland.
