On the morning of June 14, more than 180 officials, members, traditional medicine practitioners, and pharmacists in the province participated in the first training and knowledge update program in 2023 organized by the Binh Thuan Provincial Oriental Medicine Association on the topic "Traditional medicine for treating dengue fever (DF), acupressure massage to relieve pain and restore musculoskeletal movement".
At the program, Dr. Ngo Anh Dung - Lecturer at Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy shared about the physiology of Dengue fever, symptoms, classification of levels, signs to identify each level of the disease, and treatment of this disease. Along with that, there are some oriental medicine prescriptions used to treat Dengue fever at levels 1 and 2 when the patient has a sudden fever lasting 2-7 days, positive band signs, spontaneous bleeding under the skin and mucous membranes from the 2nd to 3rd day of the disease. For level 3 and 4, modern medicine must be used, the prescriptions only have a supportive effect on treatment.
