The General Staff inspected the preparation of infrastructure for civil defense command and use of number 112.

On August 20, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army and a number of functional agencies of the Ministry of National Defense organized an inspection of the preparation of infrastructure to serve the Government's online direction and management of civil defense and the use of Call Center 112, receiving and processing information, natural disasters, catastrophes and search and rescue. The inspection was carried out in a combined form of direct and online. Senior Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Chief of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army chaired at the bridge point of the Can Tho City Military Command.

The remaining bridges are connected at: Ho Chi Minh City Command; Military Commands of provinces and cities: Da Nang, Phu Tho and General Staff - Hanoi Capital Command.

According to Decision No. 226/QD-TTg in 2016, Call Center 112 is identified as the hotline number for requesting assistance and searching and rescuing nationwide. This system is established to enhance the effectiveness of search and rescue work, minimizing damage to people and property of the State and people.

Senior Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc, head of the inspection delegation of the General Staff and agencies of the Ministry of National Defense , directed and operated online civil defense and used the 112 phone number at the Can Tho City Military Command bridge point.

Over the implementation period, up to now, the units have deployed and installed all equipment in the surveyed meeting rooms, ensuring the connection of the online television system with a meeting room for the Government 's command and control and the National Search and Rescue Operation Center according to the scenarios. Organize and assign the correct number of participating staff to meet the requirements of the task. The infrastructure of the 112 switchboard is carefully prepared; arrange personnel to serve the implementation of reporting calls, along with a team of on-duty crews ready to operate the switchboard to receive and process information about incidents and disasters according to the prescribed procedures.

The inspection team conducted a field inspection at the Operations Duty Room, Can Tho City Military Command.

Senior Lieutenant General Thai Dai Ngoc requested units to continue to inspect and review all items, ensuring that technical infrastructure, equipment and human resources are always ready to meet the Government's command and management requirements in all situations.

The head of the inspection team emphasized that the effective operation of the online connection system and the 112 switchboard is of particular importance in handling incidents, natural disasters and catastrophes. Therefore, units need to proactively coordinate closely with relevant agencies, regularly organize drills according to realistic scenarios, in order to improve the capacity to command, operate and handle situations quickly, accurately and effectively. Research and supplement specialized equipment that can be disassembled, mobile, and easily installed on ships and boats to effectively serve search, rescue and relief work on rivers.
