Ministry of Defense promotes research and development of infantry fighting vehicles

On October 18, Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam, member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of National Defense , had a working session with the General Department of Defense Industry and a number of related units on the progress of research, development and manufacturing of infantry fighting vehicles. At the meeting, many solutions to overcome difficulties were proposed to speed up the project's implementation progress.

Delegates focused on requesting relevant agencies and units to strengthen close coordination in evaluating dossiers, adjusting product quantity, and ensuring the quality and modern technical and tactical features of infantry combat vehicles. These factors aim to meet mission requirements and affirm Vietnam's autonomy and self-reliance in developing the defense industry.

Senior Lieutenant General Pham Hoai Nam has directed the General Department of Defense Industry to preside over and coordinate with units to develop a specific implementation plan. He emphasized the need to complete documents and procedures for approval of adjustments to related projects and ensure progress and product quality. In addition, it is necessary to clearly define the responsibilities of each unit and individual in the process of performing the task.

The Deputy Minister of National Defense also requested units to step up research, master technology and design; invest in upgrading facilities at research, manufacturing and testing centers. This is to improve the capacity and qualifications of staff and technicians, creating a solid foundation for the development of technical weapons and equipment, meeting the training and combat readiness needs of the Army.
