Upgrade the buildings
DH21 route connects Ha Lam town (Thang Binh) to Tam Thanh commune (Phu Ninh) through many residential areas of Binh Chanh commune and is the closest route for people in groups 1 and 2 (My Tra village) to reach the commune's administrative center and schools in the area. In 2021, the People's Committee of Binh Chanh commune completed upgrading DH21 route through this commune to a 7.5m wide roadbed and 5.5m wide road surface. However, Da Giang bridge across Da Giang stream on DH21 route in My Tra village is not included in the investment project of Binh Chanh commune, so it is not synchronized. This bridge has degraded, is narrow and low-lying.
Recently, Da Giang bridge has been invested in construction with a new 5.5m wide bridge deck and a nearly 45m long approach road on each side, making people very excited.
Mr. Phan Tan Trieu (Group 2, My Tra village, Binh Chanh commune) shared: "People are very happy when the bridge is completed, large vehicles can pass easily, students can go to school conveniently on rainy and flood days. Especially during harvest season, traffic is also more convenient, saving costs for farmers".

In addition to Da Giang bridge, the DH13 route connecting National Highway 1 to Phu Ninh canal bridge through Binh Chanh commune has also been invested in upgrading. Recently, the remaining 900m at the end of the route and the bridge across the canal were invested by the People's Committee of Binh Chanh commune to synchronously construct a 5.5m wide road surface with a total capital of nearly 3 billion VND.
In addition, Long Hoi village also invested in building a new village cultural house after many years of taking advantage of Binh Chanh Primary School in Long Hoi village. The project has a scale of more than 500m2 , including fence, gate, yard and cultural facilities that meet standards with an investment capital of 820 million VND.
Complete advanced new rural
After achieving new rural standards in 2015, despite many difficulties in infrastructure and economic life, Binh Chanh commune is still determined to implement the criteria to achieve advanced new rural standards. The locality has registered to build a commune that meets advanced new rural standards in the 2021-2025 period and two model new rural villages, Ngu Xa and My Tra, in the 2021-2024 period. By the end of 2023, after the efforts and struggles of the entire Party Committee, government and people of Binh Chanh commune, these goals have all been completed ahead of schedule.
In recent times, Binh Chanh commune has focused on directing production development and increasing income for people through mechanisms and policies to encourage production. With a large agricultural production area of 630 hectares per crop, there is a village growing acacia on 126 hectares, and a freshwater fish farming area of nearly 4 hectares. Workers in the commune work at Binh Chanh Light Garment Factory, companies inside and outside the district. Nearly 50 workers are exported to Japan and Korea.
In addition, during the off-season, some households accept leather shoe and garment processing. Notably, the linkage in rice seed production is increasing, creating stable income and orienting towards safe and sustainable agricultural production. Since then, the average income per capita has increased, reaching 23.2 million VND/person in 2015 and 56.14 million VND/person/year by the end of 2023. The multidimensional poverty rate is 0.69%, of which the multidimensional poverty rate is 0% and the multidimensional near-poor rate is 0.69%.
According to Mr. Ho Chi Dung - Chairman of Binh Chanh Commune People's Committee, among the criteria for building advanced new rural areas, the most difficult is still the synchronization of rural infrastructure, from traffic, intra-field traffic, intra-field canals and public works. However, thanks to the support of leaders and departments of the district and province, Binh Chanh Commune is also determined and focused on striving to complete all tasks. Up to now, 100% of the difficult criteria related to infrastructure have been achieved.
