7-year-old girl in car accident in Nam Dinh has been discharged from hospital

On the afternoon of February 3, speaking with Tuoi Tre Online , Dr. Cao Viet Tung, deputy director of the National Children's Hospital, said that patient NND (born in 2018, a first-grade student in Hanoi ) was transferred from Nam Dinh Provincial Children's Hospital to Hanoi on the evening of the second day of Tet - the day the accident occurred.

"When admitted to the hospital, the doctor assessed that the patient's lung injury was mainly due to inhaling water when the car crashed into the ditch. Fortunately, there were no signs of neurological damage, brain damage or other injuries," said Dr. Tung.

Upon admission, the doctors transferred the patient to the intensive care unit and assessed his health as stable. In the following days, the patient's health improved.

After the serious accident, baby D. received attention and psychological care from doctors. Hospital staff contacted, talked to, encouraged, and supported the baby mentally. Along with the doctors and nurses, the grandparents were the ones who were close to and took care of baby D. during his days in the hospital.

"Today, February 3, after evaluation, the patient's health condition has stabilized. Doctors have completed the procedures for the child to be discharged from the hospital and return home with his grandparents," Dr. Tung informed.

Previously, Tuoi Tre Online reported that at around 3:30 p.m. on January 30 (the 2nd day of the Lunar New Year), at Km153+500 of National Highway 21, Nam Van Bridge (Nam Dinh), Ms. NTD (61 years old, residing in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi) drove a 7-seat car with license plate 30G-156.XX towards Voi Bridge to Nam Dinh City. The car was carrying 8 other people.

While driving, the driver suddenly turned right and due to losing control of the speed, crashed into the guardrail. The car fell into the river, killing 7 people on the spot. 2 people were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, including baby D..
