Regarding the work situation in July and the first 7 months of 2025, the Customs Department assessed that the situation of counterfeit goods, smuggled goods, and illegal transportation of goods across the border remains complicated.

According to the Customs Department, domestically, the production and trade of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods of unknown origin... are operating openly in many places, increasing in the e-commerce environment on a large scale, especially food, pharmaceuticals, functional foods...
In addition, smuggling and trade fraud occur mainly on sea and land routes.
Specifically, the sea route still accounts for the largest proportion of violations with 899 cases (out of a total of 1,790 cases), accounting for more than 50% of the number of cases detected, arrested and handled.
Goods are mainly concentrated through important seaports such as: Van Gia, Dinh Vu, Nam Hai Dinh Vu, Tan Vu, VIP Green, Cat Lai, ICD Phuoc Long, Hiep Phuoc, Vict, Cai Mep...
Illegal trading and transportation of diesel oil, coal dust, cosmetics, and food products take place in some coastal areas in the Northeast and Central regions.
In addition, there is also illegal transportation of frozen food, seafood, breeding animals, poultry, coal, gasoline, cosmetics...
Typical cases include the discovery and seizure of export shipments such as garlic, electric soldering irons, and folding chairs with signs of counterfeiting Vietnamese origin for export to the US.
Seized a lot of foreign currency, mobile phones, contraband... hidden on people
On the road route, 669 cases were arrested, accounting for 37% of the number of cases detected, arrested and handled; concentrated on the Vietnam - China and Vietnam - Cambodia borders.
Here, subjects take advantage of preferential policies for border residents to smuggle and illegally transport goods across the border by mixing goods; hiding on their person or in their luggage prohibited items and high-value goods such as foreign currency, cigarettes, mobile phones, etc.
In addition, illegal trading and transportation of firecrackers and white sugar continues in the Central provinces and the Vietnam-Laos border.
Handling more than 10,000 cases of counterfeit and banned goods violations... collecting more than 537 billion VND for the budget
In the first 7 months of 2025, the Customs Department handled more than 10,351 violations, with a total value of infringing goods estimated at VND 15,095 billion, and the budget revenue was more than VND 537 billion. The Customs Department prosecuted 10 cases and transferred 68 cases to other agencies for prosecution.
