The ban on cars passing through the new Cau Lau bridge and traffic diversion to ensure traffic flow during bridge repairs (total estimated time of 60 days) is as follows: Phase 1 starts at 12:00 on December 23, 2024 and is expected to last until 24:00 on December 31, 2024; Phase 2 starts at 12:00 on February 13, 2025 and is expected to last until 16:00 on April 5, 2025.
Vehicles allowed to pass through the bridge during the time of traffic diversion for bridge repair include: Ambulances (passing through the bridge at a maximum speed of 20km/h); buses on the Da Nang - Tam Ky route with a load capacity of less than 5 tons (only allowed to pass through the bridge from 6am - 7pm daily, passing through the bridge at a maximum speed of 10km/h and one vehicle at a time); vehicles on emergency missions (passing through the bridge at a maximum speed of 20km/h); motorbikes, mopeds, and rudimentary vehicles (only allowed to pass through the bridge at a speed of 10 - 20km/h).
All vehicles allowed to pass through the bridge must strictly follow the instructions of traffic control staff and stay in fixed lanes.
Traffic diversion plan (area near the bridge and applied to vehicles needing to enter Dien Ban, Duy Xuyen) is as follows: From North to South, vehicles with a load capacity of more than 5 tons and passenger vans with more than 30 seats when reaching the intersection between Vinh Dien bypass and National Highway 1 (old) at km947+00/National Highway 1, vehicles enter National Highway 1 (old) for about 1.15km, then turn right onto Phan Thuc Duyen Street, continue moving onto Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to go to the South.
Vehicles with a load capacity of 5 tons or less and passenger vans with 30 seats or less can move in the following directions: When reaching the intersection between Vinh Dien bypass and National Highway 1 (old) at km947+00 National Highway 1, vehicles enter National Highway 1 (old) for about 1.15km, then turn right onto Phan Thuc Duyen Street, continue moving onto Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to go to the South.
Or, when reaching the intersection between Vinh Dien bypass and National Highway 1 (old) at km 947+00/National Highway 1, the above vehicles enter National Highway 1 (old) for about 1.15km, then turn right onto Phan Thuc Duyen Street, continue to the intersection with Highway 609, continue moving in the direction of Highway 609, pass the intersection onto the highway, turn left onto Do Dang Tuyen Street, cross Giao Thuy Bridge, then turn left onto National Highway 14H, continue following National Highway 14H to return to National Highway 1 to go to the South.
Note, Highway 14H connecting from Highway 609B to Highway 1 prohibits trucks from circulating during rush hours from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., and 5:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
From South to North, vehicles with a load capacity of more than 5 tons and passenger vans with more than 30 seats when reaching the intersection at km972+200 QL1 (Cay Coc intersection) turn left onto QL14E to move onto the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway to go North.
Vehicles with a load capacity of 5 tons or less and passenger vans with 30 seats or less can move in the following directions: At the intersection at km972+200 QL1 (Cay Coc crossroads), turn left onto QL14E to move onto the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway to go North.
Or, when reaching the intersection at km955+900 QL1 at Nam Phuoc intersection (the intersection of Hung Vuong Street and QL1), vehicles turn left towards Tra Kieu, then move onto QL14H to Giao Thuy Bridge, then turn right onto DT609 back to QL1 to go North (note that during rush hour, trucks are prohibited from traveling on QL14H).
Remote diversion plan (vehicles traveling on the North-South route that do not need to go to Dien Ban, Duy Xuyen) can choose other directions. Specifically, from North to South: Vehicles with a load capacity of more than 5 tons and passenger vans with more than 30 seats from National Highway 1 turn onto National Highway 14B to move onto the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to go to the South or can choose to get off at the intersections of Ha Lam, Tam Ky, Chu Lai.
Vehicles with a load capacity of 5 tons or less and passenger vans with 30 seats or less can travel in the following directions: From National Highway 1, turn onto National Highway 14B to enter the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to go to the South or can choose to get off at the intersections of Ha Lam, Tam Ky, Chu Lai.
Or, when you reach the intersection between Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street and National Highway 1 (Da Nang City Southern Bus Station), turn left onto Nam Ky Khoi Nghia Street and go straight towards the sea, then turn right onto Lac Long Quan Street and go straight to Vo Chi Cong Street, cross Cua Dai Bridge, and continue moving towards Vo Chi Cong Street to the South.
From South to North, vehicles with a load capacity of more than 5 tons and passenger vans with more than 30 seats from National Highway 1 turn left onto the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway at the Chu Lai and Tam Ky intersections to go North. In addition, vehicles can choose to return from the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to National Highway 1 at the Phong Thu and National Highway 14B intersections.
Vehicles with a load capacity of 5 tons or less and passenger vans with 30 seats or less can travel in the following directions: From National Highway 1, turn left onto the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway at the Chu Lai and Tam Ky intersections to go North. In addition, vehicles can choose to return from the Da Nang - Quang Ngai Expressway to National Highway 1 at the Phong Thu and National Highway 14B intersections; or from National Highway 1, when reaching the level crossing at Chu Lai, turn right onto Vo Chi Cong Street and then follow the coastal road to the North; or from National Highway 1, when reaching the intersection of National Highway 14E with National Highway 1, turn right onto National Highway 14E to the coastal road and then follow the coastal road to the North.
For vehicles traveling on the North-South route that do not need to pick up or drop off goods and passengers in Quang Nam province, Road Management Area III recommends traveling on the Da Nang - Quang Ngai expressway and Ho Chi Minh road.
