Due to the impact of storm No. 3 (storm Wipha), Vietnam Airlines has adjusted the operation plan of some flights on July 21 to ensure the safety of passengers and crew.
Specifically, Vietnam Airlines canceled flights VN1188, VN1171, VN7188, VN7189, VN7056, VN7057 between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong ; VN1856, VN1857 between Ho Chi Minh City and Con Dao.
On July 21, Pacific Airlines adjusted the departure time of flights BL6440 and BL6441 between Ho Chi Minh City and Hai Phong earlier than planned, to ensure takeoff and landing time at Cat Bi airport before 12 noon. The airline also canceled flights BL6520 and BL6521 on this route during the day.
For July 22, Vietnam Airlines flights operating at Cat Bi airport will depart after 12:00.
In addition, many domestic and international flights on July 21 and 22 of Vietnam Airlines Group will be affected by storm Wipha.

According to information from Vietjet , due to the impact of storm Wipha, some flights to and from Quang Ninh and Hai Phong had to adjust flight plans on July 21.
Specifically, the airline temporarily suspended 8 flights VJ232 from Ho Chi Minh City to Van Don, VJ233 from Van Don to Ho Chi Minh City, VJ290/VJ1278/VJ1284 from Ho Chi Minh City to Hai Phong, VJ291/VJ1275/VJ1285 from Hai Phong to Ho Chi Minh City. Meanwhile, some other flights were affected in a chain reaction.
Vietjet advises passengers planning to fly during this time to check flight schedules and weather before arriving at the airport. Some flights may be temporarily suspended or have their flight times changed due to the storm.
Vietjet said that during bad weather, the airline hopes to receive sympathy from passengers because this is a force majeure situation, causing large costs for the airline, fuel costs... However, the safety of passengers is always the airline's top priority.
Bamboo Airways also said that in the face of complex weather conditions, the airline has proactively implemented flexible response scenarios and closely coordinated with airports to ensure the highest level of flight safety. In case the flight schedule may change due to force majeure, the airline also hopes to receive sympathy and sharing from passengers.
On the night of July 20, the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam sent a telegram to relevant units in the industry to urgently deploy measures to respond to storm No. 3.
The Authority requests airlines to strengthen coordination; closely monitor the developments of storm No. 3 to have plans to adjust flight plans or change flight schedules appropriately and ensure safety for flight operations.
Airlines need to fully update meteorological information from relevant aviation meteorological agencies and base on the actual situation to deploy necessary response actions, minimize impacts on operations, ensure flight safety, and protect people and assets of the unit from natural disasters.
In order to ensure maximum safety for passengers, vehicles and property at airports and to limit negative impacts on flight operations, the Civil Aviation Authority requires relevant agencies and units to organize 24/7 duty; strictly implement the procedures for responding to storms and tropical depressions in civil aviation activities.
