In his opening speech, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper Le Quoc Minh, Chairman of the National Press Awards Council, emphasized the great significance of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day and affirmed the sustainable, steadfast and creative development of the country's press. Today's Vietnamese revolutionary press always carries the breath of reality, vividly reflecting all aspects of life; faithfully and creatively reflecting the Party's policies and guidelines. At the same time, it also propagates, criticizes and builds the State's policies and laws; reflects the thoughts and aspirations of all classes of people; shares, connects, exchanges and consolidates the great national unity bloc.

Entering its 19th season, the National Press Awards continues to affirm its solid reputation as the most prestigious professional award for Vietnamese journalists. The award is a mirror reflecting the life of journalism, reflecting the practical leadership, direction, work and dedication of the Party, State and People in 2024.
Among the 128 press works in the final round, the council selected the best works with high discovery, authenticity, combativeness, valuable content, creative form, spreading power, and impact on the public to award 13 A prizes, 27 B prizes, 49 C prizes and 39 consolation prizes. Of which, the 3-part series " Peaceful Wishes from the Sacred Land of Quang Tri" by the group of authors Hoai Huong, Lam Thanh, Tu Linh, Quang Tri Provincial Newspaper and Radio and Television Station was honored to win the C prize.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh acknowledged and highly appreciated the great contributions of press agencies, veteran journalists and journalists in general. He emphasized that in the process of innovation, national construction and development and protection of the Fatherland, the revolutionary press continues to affirm its core role in propagating and disseminating the Party's guidelines and the State's policies and laws, serving as a solid and strong bridge between the Party, the State and the People, contributing to improving the effectiveness and efficiency of leadership, direction, management and operation at all levels, sectors and localities.
The press plays a role in providing accurate and timely information, with a critical spirit, orienting public opinion, contributing to firmly consolidating the great national unity bloc, strengthening the people's trust in the leadership of the Party and the management of the State. At the same time, it proactively and actively contributes to the Party's ideological foundation, fights against erroneous and hostile views, and prevents corruption, negativity and waste.
The press widely spreads humanistic values, compassion, goals, and ideals, with many typical and advanced examples, contributing to raising people's knowledge, forming correct viewpoints, building a system of good values and standards, contributing to enhancing the role, position, and prestige of the Vietnamese people and Vietnam in the international arena.

On this occasion, the Prime Minister requested that the Vietnamese press continue to inherit its glorious tradition, improve its level of training in steadfast political will and noble qualities, and always maintain the spirit of “bright eyes, pure heart, sharp pen” to fulfill its noble humanitarian mission, contributing worthily to the cause of national construction, development and defense.
Journalists need to be clearly aware of their glory and noble responsibility, promote the glorious tradition of 100 years of revolutionary journalism, always be an honest, objective, multi-dimensional, comprehensive voice, covering the flow of life, be a solid, tight, effective bridge between the Party, the State and the people, bravely fight against evil and negativity, and at the same time encourage and spread typical examples, good things, and profound human values in society.
In addition, revolutionary press also needs to be a pioneer in grasping and applying technology to enhance propaganda effectiveness, taking advantage of the power of the Internet, social networks, and digital technology to bring positive, objective, honest, accurate, and timely information to the public; listening to people express their thoughts and aspirations, thereby contributing to building a clean and strong political system, creating social consensus, and strengthening people's trust.
