With this launch, we hope to bring to the public and researchers a unique cultural space, an attractive and interesting destination for domestic and foreign tourists who want to experience and explore cultural history and the East-West cultural exchange process. Thereby, contributing to preserving, exploiting and promoting the value of Hue's treasure trove of antiquities in particular, creating a new attractive cultural destination for the ancient capital of Hue.
Cecile Le Pham Fine Arts Museum was established in 2023 at 53 Ham Nghi and is the 5th non-public museum in Hue City. Reviving a French House
Building 49-51 Ham Nghi was once owned by a contractor in Indochina in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. With the desire to contribute to the preservation, restoration and promotion of the value of French architectural heritage in Hue, Director of the Cecile Le Pham Fine Arts Museum - Ms. Cecile Le Pham has requested permission to renovate this villa in 2024. Previously, the villa was built more than 100 years ago with beautiful architecture but was heavily eroded by time and the harsh climate of the Central region, with many parts of the roof, wooden floors and stairs at risk of collapse. The restoration was carried out by experts in restoration and architectural conservation, ensuring that the core structures of the house were not damaged as well as preserving the typical architectural features of the French colonial period, ensuring safe use. |
