Storm No. 5 begins causing heavy rain and strong winds in the North Central region

From 7:00 a.m. this morning, August 25, in the Con Co special economic zone (Quang Tri) and coastal areas of Nghe An and Ha Tinh provinces, high tides began to rise, accompanied by heavy rain and winds of level 5 and 6; in which the Con Co special economic zone had gusts of level 8 and 9.

On the morning of August 25, storm No. 5 affected the northern region of Quang Tri province. By 8:00 a.m. this morning, the coastal areas had begun to experience quite strong winds. The waves were especially strong and began to become violent.

Speaking to SGGP reporters, Dr. Le Van Danh, Director of the Con Co Military-Civilian Medical Center (Quang Tri) said that from 7:00 a.m. this morning, August 25, in the Con Co island area, high tides began to rise, accompanied by heavy rain and winds of level 5 and level 6.

Currently, storm No. 5 continues to intensify and cause many large waves. The entire military and civilian population of nearly 400 people on the island are taking shelter from the storm in the bunker.

Waves began to rise along with heavy rain on Con Co Island from early morning on August 25.

Con Co Special Zone has been proactively responding to storm No. 5, with the motto "4 on-site" and the principle of "Proactive prevention, timely response, urgent and effective recovery" to minimize human and property damage caused by storm No. 5.

In Nghe An , on the morning of August 25, SGGP Newspaper reporters were present at Cua Lo beach (Cua Lo ward, Nghe An province).

From about 7am, the sky began to darken, the rain poured heavily, the wind howled. Out at sea, the waves began to rise violently. From about 8am to 9am, the rain became heavier, the wind gusted, and trees fell.

The roads are deserted, with only occasional police vehicles on duty. Authorities have also banned people from crossing Cua Hoi Bridge.
