On the morning of March 17, the 2024 National Press Festival jointly organized by the Vietnam Journalists Association ; Central Propaganda Department; Ministry of Information and Communications; Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee completed its program and officially closed.
Attending the closing ceremony were comrades: Nguyen Trong Nghia, Secretary of the Party Central Committee, Head of the Central Propaganda Department; Tran Luu Quang, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Prime Minister; Le Quoc Minh, Editor-in-Chief of Nhan Dan Newspaper, Deputy Head of the Central Propaganda Department, President of the Vietnam Journalists Association, and representatives of leaders of ministries, departments, branches, localities and the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee...
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia congratulated and commended the successes of the 2024 National Press Festival. He emphasized that the Press Festival has spread the spirit and strength of press innovation to all regions, from border to island, from urban to rural areas, in line with the theme "Vietnamese Press - Pioneer, Innovation for the revolutionary cause of the Party and People"; creating new creative motivation for journalists nationwide.

Reaffirming the theme of the 2024 National Press Festival as "Vietnamese Press - Pioneer, Innovation for the Revolutionary Cause of the Party and People", Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia analyzed: Pioneering in information, propaganda, and orienting public opinion on important political , socio-economic, defense, security, foreign affairs tasks of the country. Innovation in leadership and direction methods, management thinking, information content, production and publishing processes, production and business, diversifying revenue sources so that the press can maintain and master, be the main and important information stream on the information and communication front, especially in cyberspace. These tasks are all aimed at the noble goal of "For the revolutionary cause of the Party and People".
“The message of the Press Festival has been clearly demonstrated through practical and attractive events, exhibitions and professional forums, contributing to opening up new knowledge; strengthening the spirit of solidarity between press agencies and local press associations, and strengthening the close relationship between the press and the public. The display and introduction of OCOP products of localities at this year's Press Festival has helped businesses enhance their brands, widely promote their products; helping the public of Ho Chi Minh City and the whole country have the opportunity to experience and use typical products of many regions across the country - that is also the spirit of the press accompanying businesses in economic and social development. Along with that are special cultural and artistic programs, awarding Spring press awards and meaningful sports and arts awards for journalists", Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia stated.

Head of the Central Propaganda Department Nguyen Trong Nghia said that the first time the Vietnam Journalists Association organized a national press forum on press and media topics was very exciting and practical for journalists nationwide. The recommendations and proposals at the Forum are an important basis for leaders, managers, and associations to study, absorb, and supplement to submit to competent authorities to perfect mechanisms and policies for the press; they are valuable experiences for press agencies to learn from, find solutions, and directions for their press agencies.
2024 is a very important year in implementing the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress and towards the 14th National Party Congress, the year to celebrate many important events of the country; along with that is the completion of amending and supplementing the Press Law and summarizing 5 years of implementing the Government's National Press Development and Management Plan. Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia hopes that press agencies need to focus on propagating well the implementation of socio-economic development tasks in 2024; closely following the breath of life to reflect, contribute ideas, create, and spread good and humane values in society; bring policies, laws into life, meeting the expectations of all people.

Press agencies need to continue to promote digital transformation, apply modern technology, pay attention to investing, upgrading equipment, facilities and regularly innovate and create in the production and broadcasting of programs, news and articles; strengthen the work of building a clean and strong Party; constantly foster and improve political qualities, educate revolutionary ethics and professional skills for journalists; need to be more determined to build each press agency into a typical cultural agency. Heads of press agencies and magazines need to enhance their roles and responsibilities within the scope of their tasks and powers, especially in implementing legal regulations on the press, especially implementing the principles and purposes; have solutions to strictly manage and create favorable conditions for reporters and editors to operate in accordance with regulations; Scientifically and strictly control the activities of representative offices, resident reporters, and collaborators, ensuring that activities comply with the provisions of the Press Law and related legal documents.

On the side of the Vietnam Journalists Association, comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia suggested promoting the emulation movement to build a cultural press agency and a culture of journalists; well organizing the activities of the Council for handling violations of the Code of Professional Ethics for Vietnamese Journalists; strengthening monitoring, supervision, inspection, conclusion and handling of violations of professional ethics and the Code of Conduct for Vietnamese Journalists. Associations at all levels from the central to local levels continue to innovate political and ideological education. It is necessary to strengthen the organization of seminars, training, fostering and training in modern journalism skills, methods of journalism in the digital environment; propagating, disseminating and educating to improve professional ethics and ways of behaving on social networks for members and journalists nationwide.
For each journalist, the Head of the Central Propaganda Department suggested that they need to be more deeply aware of their role, position, function and task in the Vietnamese Revolutionary Press; constantly cultivate and improve their political qualities, professional ethics, professional qualifications, and technological skills; train their talents and virtues to have “bright eyes, pure hearts, sharp pens” - worthy of being pioneers on the ideological and cultural front of the Party, State and People.

The 2024 National Press Festival attracted 112 booths displaying Spring newspaper publications and typical press publications of 2023 and the first quarter of 2024, gathering more than 600 central and local press agencies, all levels of the Vietnam Journalists Association in 63 provinces and cities nationwide and the participation of press training and fostering units, and exhibition areas of units providing modern press and media equipment.
The 2024 National Press Conference will organize the first National Press Forum with the participation of more than 60 speakers who are experienced journalists, leaders of leading press agencies in Vietnam, and prestigious international media experts. The National Press Forum is a place for high-quality professional activities with 10 discussion sessions on hot topics of interest to the press community such as: Enhancing Party spirit and orientation in press activities; Building a cultural press environment; Data journalism and outstanding content strategy...

In addition, the 2024 Press Festival also brings to the public special cultural and artistic programs, presents Spring press awards, and the Journalist & Public Opinion Cup football tournament. In particular, this year's Press Festival has the participation of 64 OCOP product booths from 50 provinces and centrally-run cities, demonstrating the attraction and role of media and press in promoting the economy.
Within the framework of this year's National Press Festival, the Organizing Committee and the Award Council decided to award 11 A prizes, 29 B prizes, 53 C prizes and 88 Encouragement prizes to press agencies in 4 categories: Excellent display booth; Impressive Tet Radio Program; Impressive Tet Television Program; Impressive Tet electronic interface; Impressive Tet newspaper cover.
At the 2024 National Press Festival, the Communist Party of Vietnam Electronic Newspaper was honored to receive the Third Prize for Impressive Tet Electronic Interface and the Encouragement Prize for Excellent Exhibition Booth.
