On May 4, the Politburo issued Resolution 68 NQ/TW on private economic development, defining breakthrough solutions to achieve the goal of 2 million enterprises by 2030. The Resolution has breathed new life into the private economic sector and established a free, transparent, and equal business environment.
As a companion, press agencies also pose many new problems to meet the needs of businesses, aiming at the goal of high growth and sustainable development of the country.

According to statistics, by early 2025, the country had 940,000 private enterprises, more than 5 million business households, accounting for nearly 50% of GDP, contributing more than 30% of total state budget revenue and attracting about 85% of the labor force. The private economy also accounted for 35% of total import turnover and 25% of total export turnover of the country.
Speaking at the seminar, Vice President of the Vietnam Business Federation Vo Tan Thanh said that Resolution 68 emphasized the need to promote communication, raise awareness and action, arouse the entrepreneurial spirit, start-ups, self-confidence, self-reliance, and national pride of all people to promote the strong development of the private economy. The press is both an information channel and a companion, helping to spread good models, creative ways of doing things, encouraging the entrepreneurial spirit and social responsibility of businesses.

Vice President of the Vietnam Journalists Association in charge of the South, Tran Trong Dung, said that despite many efforts, the cooperation between the press and the private sector is not commensurate with the potential and development needs. The propaganda has not yet spread strongly to local associations as well as local press agencies, requiring further improvement in the coming time.

At the workshop, delegates discussed and exchanged important issues such as the context and opportunities for private enterprises according to Resolution 68; the role of the press in improving competitiveness, exploiting infrastructure and connecting investment resources.
Proposing solutions to realize policies to support private enterprises, from institutional improvement, technology modernization to human resource development. In addition, the forum also discussed mechanisms for the press to accompany enterprises in sustainable development, promote the public-private partnership model, and improve productivity so that Vietnam can achieve a high growth target of 8% this year and double digits in the following years.
