PV: Sir, in the context of strong digital transformation today, what are the requirements for the work of journalists and press agencies to continue carrying out the historical mission of revolutionary journalism?
Comrade Le Quoc Minh: Revolutionary journalism has gone through 100 years of development with many important milestones. However, in the current context, when society is changing and technology is constantly advancing, journalism must also adapt to continue to fulfill its mission well. One of the biggest challenges is the change in people's habits and information consumption needs.
While many people still buy print newspapers, watch television, or listen to the radio, it is clear that the number of people using these traditional platforms is declining. Instead, they are turning to internet platforms, especially social media.
But it must be seen that relying too much on social networks to find information will certainly pose great risks. Users are easily exposed to fake news, bad and toxic news, while official and legitimate information must compete with millions of information produced daily on the internet.
Therefore, the challenge for the press is how to dominate the digital platform, so that the State's policies and the Party's guidelines can reach the public, both domestically and internationally. If we continue to do it the old way, it will be difficult to attract readers. Although we have official information, it is very difficult for people to access it.
Therefore, press agencies must have a strong transformation. Newsroom transformation and digital transformation are not only mandatory conditions but also the foundation for press to maintain its appeal in the digital age. In addition to digitizing processes, press agencies need to innovate in the way they convey information more than ever.
Important information such as speeches by Party and State leaders or articles on laws need to be conveyed in a new and more attractive way. In the digital environment, we can present information in many different forms: text, images, videos , graphics and even use new technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI) to make information more vivid and accessible.

PV: How important is the application of new technology, especially artificial intelligence (AI), to journalism for journalists and press agencies, sir?
Mr. Le Quoc Minh: AI can play a key role in helping press agencies process information more quickly, accurately and effectively. Not only in content production, AI can also support in distributing information to the right audience. That is why we pay special attention to training journalists in digital skills and artificial intelligence.
Starting in 2025, the Vietnam Journalists Association will organize a large-scale AI training program for journalists, with the goal of training at least 3,000 journalists. We hope that journalists will grasp these new technologies so that they can use them effectively in the process of exploiting, producing and distributing information. Only by doing so can information on the policies and guidelines of the Party and State reach the people accurately and quickly.

PV: In recent years, Thai Nguyen press has made strong changes, especially in the field of digital transformation. Could you share some assessments of these innovations?
Mr. Le Quoc Minh: It must be admitted that in recent years, Thai Nguyen press has taken very bold steps in digital transformation. Previously, many people thought that only large press agencies could effectively carry out digital transformation. However, Thai Nguyen has proven that even local press agencies can catch up with the digital transformation trend if they seize the opportunity.
Thai Nguyen press, especially Thai Nguyen Newspaper and Thai Nguyen Radio and Television, have boldly put content on digital platforms, not only on websites but also on social networking platforms. This has helped Thai Nguyen press dominate the digital media front, reaching more readers.
In addition to digital transformation, we cannot ignore new technology platforms, such as virtual reality (VR), augmented reality (AR) or mixed augmented reality (MR). These technologies will help us create engaging interactive experiences for users and are useful tools for more effective propaganda. Thai Nguyen Press, as well as other local press agencies, need to take the lead in this trend to not only serve users but also create unique and attractive media products.

Reporter: Sir, in addition to digital transformation, in the current context, detecting and preventing fake news on cyberspace is one of the important tasks of the press. Could you share more about this?
Mr. Le Quoc Minh: Fake news is a very serious problem that we are facing in the digital age. Since 2016, the press has recognized its important task in detecting and exposing fake news. However, as fake news grows stronger, the press also needs to have more effective measures to prevent it. Not only detecting, the press also has to help guide users, warning them about fake news and bad news.
The press needs to be proactive in providing authentic, accurate information and stop publishing false and misleading information. Especially in the context of readers easily accessing news from many different sources, the press must enhance its responsibility in preventing fake news, helping people to be more aware of this issue.
PV: On the eve of the 100th anniversary of Vietnam Revolutionary Press Day, can you tell us about the significance of this important event for the development of revolutionary journalism?
Comrade Le Quoc Minh: It can be said that this is not only an opportunity for us to look back on the development of revolutionary journalism but also an opportunity for us to strengthen solidarity and consensus in carrying out journalism work. This event is also an opportunity to acknowledge the great achievements of the press for the revolutionary cause of the Party, the country, the prosperity and happiness of the people, and at the same time raise awareness of the responsibility of the press in providing official, accurate and timely information, especially in the fight against fake news and toxic news.
The Vietnam Journalists Association will continue to be a bridge, supporting training and creating conditions for journalists, especially in applying new technology to fulfill their mission in the digital transformation period. Every journalist and every press agency needs to be clearly aware of their responsibility in providing official information, spreading positive information and helping people access accurate and complete information.
