The Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Lao Cai province visited and congratulated the province after the merger.

On the afternoon of August 13, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Lao Cai province, led by Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dien, Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Head of the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province, visited and discussed Buddhist affairs with the leaders of Lao Cai province.

Also participating in the delegation were Most Venerable Thich Minh Huy, Member of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha, Deputy Head of the Standing Committee of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province, and monks in the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province.

Receiving the delegation were comrades: Nguyen Tuan Anh, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Duong Duc Huy, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Provincial Party Committee's Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Department; Vu Thi Hien Hanh, Vice Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of the Provincial Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions.

On behalf of monks, nuns and Buddhists in the province, Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dien respectfully sends congratulations to the leaders of Lao Cai province who have been entrusted by the Central Government with important responsibilities after the merger and establishment of the new province.

The Venerable affirmed: In the past time, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha has seriously implemented the policy of reorganizing and perfecting the organization, including merging the organizations of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Lao Cai and Yen Bai provinces into the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of Lao Cai province. Currently, the whole province has over 55,000 monks, nuns, Buddhists and over 40 pagodas practicing religion.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dien affirmed: In the new context, the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in Lao Cai province continues to promote the tradition of solidarity, attachment, and companionship with the nation, always consistent with the motto of practicing religion "Dharma - Nation - Socialism", joining hands with the Party Committee, government and people of the whole province to build the homeland to be increasingly comprehensively developed, civilized and prosperous.

Most Venerable Thich Thanh Dien hopes to continue receiving attention from Party committees, authorities at all levels and functional agencies so that the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha of the province can operate smoothly, in the right direction and fulfill its social responsibilities and religious ethics in the new development period.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee emphasized: The merger and consolidation of two provinces into a new administrative unit is a major policy of the Party and State to realize the spirit of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW of the 12th Party Central Committee on "Some issues on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system to be streamlined and operate effectively and efficiently"; at the same time, expanding the development space, maximizing the potential and advantages of the region, creating new conditions, motivations and mechanisms for the locality to develop faster, stronger and more sustainably.

He affirmed that Lao Cai province pays great attention to the cultural sector, including the preservation, conservation and promotion of the value of ancient pagodas, historical and cultural relics. Places of worship are not only places for religious activities, but also highlights in the development of spiritual tourism combined with eco-tourism and cultural tourism. Therefore, in the development orientation, the province will continue to invest in infrastructure, expand connecting routes, create favorable conditions for sustainable tourism development, associated with the preservation of traditional cultural identity.

The Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee also hoped that the Venerable Monks, Venerable Monks, and Abbots would coordinate with local authorities to renovate and embellish pagodas and historical relics; continue to mobilize Buddhists to properly implement the Party's policies and the State's laws; and accompany the authorities in promoting the strength of the great national unity bloc, contributing to building Lao Cai province into a strong province in the region and the whole country.
