Apple changes the position of the 'apple' on the iPhone 17 again

According to the latest information from Majin Bu, a leaker who regularly makes predictions about Apple products, the position of the "bitten apple" logo on the iPhone 17 Pro may change.

Specifically, on his personal website, Majin Bu posted images and information confirming that due to the new camera layout on the upcoming iPhone 17 Pro model, Apple will have to move this icon to the bottom middle, just below the camera bar.

"A partner company of ours that specializes in making cases for the iPhone 17 Pro series has confirmed that they are starting to produce cases with the new design," Bu revealed, while providing an illustration of the change. Although the logo relocation and the appearance of the camera bar across the entire back have not been officially confirmed by Apple, the camera change is considered by experts to be very feasible.

The news comes after a series of rumors that the iPhone 17 Pro would feature a new layout on the top of the back. However, none of the previous rumors mentioned a change in the logo's position, and there's no technical requirement for Apple to move the icon.

However, Apple changed the logo position when it launched the iPhone 11 in 2019. Previously, models like the iPhone X had the logo placed higher and accompanied by the words "iPhone" below.

With the iPhone 11, Apple centered the logo and removed the word "iPhone" altogether. This was also the time when Apple introduced a redesigned camera layout, moving from a vertical camera arrangement to the familiar rounded square cluster as it is today.

The new camera system on the iPhone 17 Pro is expected to be the first major change since the iPhone 11. Experts say that this design will still keep the three cameras on the left side, but the flash and LiDAR sensor will be moved to the right side, creating a camera layout that spans the entire width of the device.

According to Majin Bu, the iPhone 17 Pro may be equipped with a "vapor chamber" cooling system. However, the leaker is less confident about this information.

While the report is said to come from an “internal source,” Majin Bu is also careful to note that the vapor chamber design is “still in development, with a number of challenges to address.”
