For 7 consecutive years, Mr. Le Xuan Huy (bus driver on route 72 in Ho Chi Minh City) has been preparing gifts to give to customers.

Sharing with Tuoi Tre Online , Mr. Xuan Huy said that every time he arrives at a stop to pick up passengers, he counts the number of women getting on the bus, then opens his basket to take out gifts to give. While giving gifts, he wishes: "Happy March 8th to all the ladies. Anyone who takes this bus will have a gift to bring home."

Hearing that, a guest over 60 years old said: "Uncle, I got a free ticket. So I don't get any gifts, right? Let me buy a ticket, because I really want to bring the gift back to my nephew."

Huy immediately smiled and said: "You get a free ticket, I'll give you double the gift." After saying that, he took out roses, chocolates, mirrors, and even gave her a stuffed animal keychain to bring home as a gift for her grandchild.

Mr. Huy shared that this is the 7th year he has prepared gifts for female guests on the occasion of March 8. However, this year is a bit different because he got the date wrong.

"I thought today was Friday so I hadn't bought any gifts yet. But when I heard the ladies talking about March 8, I suddenly remembered. I asked for the afternoon off the day before to prepare gifts for the ladies. Nail clippers, mirrors, nail locks, chocolate... Total cost more than 4 million VND," Huy said with a laugh.

Why did he dare to spend so much? He said: "This special holiday only happens once a year. This money can be spent on a few weddings. Besides, I'm still healthy and have a job, so I don't have much left."

The generous driver also gave some male passengers gifts, if there were only a few people left on the bus. They were beer can keychains, thinking that if he was happy, the passengers would be happy too.

According to the driver, every time he arrived at a few bus stops, he would stop for a few minutes to give gifts to passengers. As for the chocolates, he would ask the flight attendant to give them to the passengers later. However, on some trips, when the passengers got off and he had not yet given them gifts, Mr. Huy asked the flight attendant to give them to the passengers.

Mr. Huy said: "Every year, when my wife is the flight attendant, my wife is in charge of this job. This year, my wife has gone back to her hometown, so the new flight attendant has to work a little harder. Therefore, early in the morning of March 8, I also reserved a special gift for her.

My wife is currently in the countryside, so I will send her my best wishes in the morning and 'ting ting' in the evening. My wife used to work in the same profession, so she understands and sympathizes with her husband very well."

The driver hopes that all women will be happy on March 8 because women need to be cherished and shared. He hopes that everyone will love buses more because this means of transport helps reduce traffic congestion.

Huy’s story about giving gifts on March 8th was liked by everyone. Many guests even took the opportunity to take pictures and post them online to show off the special gift the driver sent.
