Alexander-Arnold dropped from England squad

Alexander-Arnold continues to be removed from the national team by coach Tuchel.

Trent moved to Real Madrid for €10 million this summer in the hope of taking the next step in his career. However, he was surprisingly left out of the Three Lions squad for the matches against Andorra and Serbia. He was called up in June for the wins over Andorra and Senegal.

But in reality, Trent was only on the bench in the above matches, as coach Tuchel preferred to use Curtis Jones and Kyle Walker at right-back. The former Liverpool star was deployed in a midfield role by coach Gareth Southgate at Euro 2024 due to his limited defensive ability.

Trent is having a tough time competing with Dani Carvajal at Real Madrid. Coach Xabi Alonso refused to confirm whether Trent or Carvajal will be the first choice for the right-back position this season.

While Trent was ruled out due to a technical issue, the talented attacking duo of the "Three Lions" including Arsenal's Bukayo Saka and Chelsea's Cole Palmer were absent due to injury.

Marcus Rashford, John Stones and Adam Wharton are recalled, while Nottingham Forest midfielder Elliot Anderson and Tottenham defender Djed Spence are called up for the first time.

England are currently top of Group K of the European qualifiers with three wins against Albania, Latvia and Andorra in their first three matches under coach Tuchel.
