On the morning of August 13, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) had a working session with the leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism on the implementation of contents related to the Project on Promoting Innovation in Regional Cooperation and Integration after the Consequences of COVID-19 to promote sustainable tourism development in Ha Tinh.
The project Promoting Innovation in Regional Cooperation and Integration in the Post-COVID-19 Era to Promote Sustainable Tourism Development in Ha Tinh is funded by the Asian Development Bank (ADB), implemented from May 2023 to December 2025.
In the past time, ADB has organized many working sessions with relevant departments, agencies and sectors on the implementation of project contents; field surveys at Cau Treo International Border Gate, some hot spring locations in Cau Treo border area, community tourism in Lang Che village (Son Kim 2 commune); sharing knowledge on sustainable tourism development for the potential tourism community in Lang Che village; training some tourism skills for people in the community, developing tour routes, destination promotion skills, connecting and building destinations...

At the meeting, the delegation of the Asian Development Bank, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and relevant parties discussed the following contents: The government's vision and priorities in sustainable and comprehensive tourism development in Son Kim 2 in particular and Ha Tinh province in general; recent tourism activities in Son Kim 2 and Ha Tinh province as well as upcoming activities with ADB support.
Delegates also suggested prospects for cooperation with the Lao PDR, especially in tourism development in the border area with Bolikhamxay province.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Cong Thanh thanked ADB for its interest and support for Ha Tinh tourism industry and affirmed that they will closely coordinate in the implementation of the project's contents.
The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism also proposed priority support from ADB such as: Support for building strategies and action plans for tourism development; building and developing infrastructure; technical and human resource support; connecting markets to promote Ha Tinh and Son Kim 2 on the tourism network and the Mekong sub-region, thereby attracting international investors and travel businesses...

The delegation's working program will take place from August 13 to August 18, 2025.
Some proposed contents of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to the Asian Development Bank:
- Strategic support: Develop strategies, detailed planning and action plans for tourism development in Son Kim 2 and border areas.
- Support the construction and development of some infrastructure contents: Traffic infrastructure, water supply and drainage, waste water and waste treatment, infrastructure connecting tourist destinations: Son Kim 2 - Vu Quang National Park route; access roads to community tourist destinations; installation of bilingual tourist signboards on main and intra-regional routes and some regional-scale tourism service infrastructure such as the inter-national tourism information and service center at Son Kim 2.
- Technical and human resource support: Training in management skills, foreign languages, digital marketing for staff, businesses and the community.
- Market connection: Promote Ha Tinh and Son Kim 2 commune on the Mekong sub-region tourism network, attracting investors and international travel businesses.
